Daniel James Licht (March 13, 1957 – August 2, 2017) was an Americanmovie composer and musician. He was born inMassachusetts and raised inDetroit,Michigan.

Licht was best known for composing the score forShowtime TV drama series,Dexter and for the movieChildren of the Night. He was also known for composing thevideo game score ofSilent Hill.

Licht died on August 2, 2017 inLos Angeles,California ofliposarcoma at the age of 60.^[1]
