Cookstown is a smalltown inNorthern Ireland which is in theUnited Kingdom. 10646 people live in the town. The main street in Cookstown is the longest and widest inIreland.^[3]

On29 April2001 the United Kingdom government had acensus and found out that there were 10,646 people living in Cookstown. They also found that:

• 26.0% of the people were less than 16 years old and 15.6% were over 60 years old
• 49.7% of the people were males and 50.3% were females
• 52.8% were from aRoman Catholic background and 45.1% were from aProtestant background
• 3.9% of people aged from 16 to 74 had no job.^[4]
