Contone was amunicipality of the districtLocarno in thecanton ofTicino inSwitzerland. On 25 April 2010, the former municipalities ofCaviano, Contone,Gerra Gambarogno,Indemini,Magadino,Piazzogna,San Nazzaro,Sant'Abbondio andVira Gambarogno merged to form the new municipality ofGambarogno.[1]
