Cité des sciences et de l’industrie is a science museum located in theParc de la Villette inParis and is the largest inEurope. The museum is one of several French cultural centers of science, technology and industry, which aim to promote science and scientific culture.[1]
The museum is visited by around five million people each year. The museum's attractions range from aplanetarium to a submarine (Argonaute), and include anIMAX theater (La Géode) and a special area for children and young people.[2]
The museum was created on the initiative ofPresident Giscard d'Estaing with the aim of imparting scientific and technical knowledge to the public, especially young people, and of arousing interest in science, research and industry.[3]
