Acherry is afruit that grows on atree or abush. It belongs to thegenusPrunus. It is red in color, with aseed in the middle. Ittastes slightly sour, and is often used to flavourcakes andice cream, or is baked in apie or cobbler. Cherries are also a good source ofVitamin B.

In Japan, Yamagata is top producer of cherries.
