TheCarolina Reaper is ahybrid plant made up of ahabanero andghost pepper (which is made up of a habanero and Capsicum frutescens). It was developed bySouth Carolina breeder Ed Currie.[1] It is known for being one of the spiciestpeppers, reaching 2,200,000SHU on average.[2]
