Captain Phillips is a2013actionthriller movie based on the true events of theMaersk Alabama hijacking in2009. It starsTom Hanks,Faysal Ahmed andBarkhad Abdi. The movie is based on the book by CaptainRichard PhillipsA Captain's Duty: Somali Pirates, Navy SEALs, and Dangerous Days at Sea (2010). It was released to positive reviews on October 11, 2013. Barkhad Abdi received an Oscar nomination.
