Bunchū (文中) was aJapanese era name (年号,nengō, lit. year name) of theSouthern Court during theNanboku-chō period afterKentoku and beforeTenju. This period started in October 1372 and ended in May 1375.[1] The Southern Courtmonarch inYoshino during this time wasEmperor Chōkei (長慶天皇,Chōkei-tennō).[2] TheNorthern Courtpretender inKyoto wasEmperor Go-En'yū (後円融天皇,Go-En'yū-tennō).[3]
