The Bronx is the northern part ofNew York City,United States. It is the onlyborough of New York City not on anisland. The name came from Bronck's Farms, owned by asettler called Jonas Bronck. The Bronx was once the southern part ofWestchester County, but is now one of the fiveboroughs of New York City as well as acounty in New York State calledBronx County.
