Robert Watson Ferguson (born February 23, 1965) is an American lawyer and politician who has been the 24thGovernor of Washington since 2025. He was the 18thattorney general of Washington from 2013 to 2025. He is a member of theDemocratic Party.[1]

In 2017, Ferguson was included on the annualTime 100 list of the most influential people in the world.[2]

In September 2023, Ferguson announced that he is a candidate forGovernor of Washington in the2024 election.[3] He won the election in November 2024, defeating former U.S. RepresentativeDave Reichert.

Ferguson is an internationally ratedchess master.[4] He has twice won the Washington State Chess Championship.[4]
