Blacksburg is atown inMontgomery County, in westernVirginia. In2020, 44,826 people lived there.

History

Blacksburg was first explored by Henry Batt and John Fallam who were sent byAbraham Wood in 1671. The town is named after Samuel Black, who used to own land there. On October 2, 1872,Virginia Tech was opened with three teachers. On April 26, 2007, Seung-Hui Cho shot 32 people in theVirginia Tech massacre.
