bazaar is anPersian word which can be also seen in other languages likeTurkish:pazar andPersian:بازار.bazaar is an area that is always used for shopping. It can be amarket place or a street of shops where things are exchanged or sold.

The word bazaar is from the Persian wordbāzār, this word itself comes from thePahlavi wordbaha-char (بهاچار), meaning "the place of prices".[1] Although the meaning of the word "bazaar" started inPersia, it has spread and is now used in many countries around world.[2]

The world's biggest bazaar is theGrand Bazaar, Tehran, other well-known ones are theGrand Bazaar inIstanbul, theOld Bazaar inCairo, theChandni Chowk inDelhi or theAnarkali Bazar inLahore. Very often,banks, or moneylenders,cafes andmosques can also be found in a bazaar.
