TheBattle of Imphal (Meitei:Japan Laan,lit. 'Japanese attack') was a battle in theWorld War II.^[1][2][3]It was a historic combat that took place inImphal, the metropolis ofManipur in 1944. It was fought between theBritish Empire andJapan.^[4] According to a voting in a contest run by the BritishNational Army Museum, the Battle of Imphal andKohima was bestowed asBritain's Greatest Battle in 2013.^[5][3]
