Avenue Q is a musical comedy that has puppets and human actors with music and lyrics byRobert Lopez andJeff Marx and book byJeff Whitty. It is a parody ofSesame Street. The show won Best Musical, Book, and Score at the2004 Tony Awards. The show has themes ofracism,homosexuality, and internetpornography. It is best known for its song "The Internet is for Porn".
The musical premiered Off-Broadway in 2003. In July of that same year the show moved to theJohn Golden Theatre on Broadway, where it ran until 2009, playing for over 2,500 performances.[1]
