Antelope Valley

Antelope Valley is in northernLos Angeles County,California, and the southeast part ofKern County, California. It is a part of the western tip of theMojave Desert.[1] It is between theTehachapi,Sierra Pelona, and theSan Gabriel Mountains.[2]

The valley was named for thepronghorns that roamed there. They were killed in the 1880s, mostly by hunting, or moved to other areas.[2][3] The main cities in the Antelope Valley arePalmdale andLancaster.
