Anson Jones (January 20, 1798 – January 9, 1858) was an Americandoctor,businessperson and politician. He was thefourth and last President of theRepublic of Texas. He was sometimes called the "Architect of Annexation".
On January 9, 1858 Jonesshot himself inHouston,Texas at the age of 59.[1]
