Alexander Emmanuel Rodriguez (born July 27, 1975 inNew York City,New York). In the past, he played asshortstop for theSeattle Mariners andTexas Rangers.
He is currently first inruns scored andtotal bases; second inextra base hits and RBI, and 4th inhits among all players in baseball history since their 31st birthday. Also, Rodriguez has more HR, RBI, runs scored and more base hits than all-time leadersHank Aaron (RBI),Barry Bonds (HR),Rickey Henderson (runs scored), andPete Rose (hits) did before their 31st birthdays.[1] He is the youngest player ever to hit500 home runs, breaking the recordJimmie Foxx set in 1939.[2]
He has been said to be one of the best all-around players currently inbaseball.[3][4][5]
In 2009, he admitted to using steroids from 2001-2003, during his time with theTexas Rangers, in order to become better at baseball.[6]
His playing career ended in August of 2016.[7]
