26858 Misterrogers, provisional designation1993 FR, is aMars crossingasteroid. It is named afterchildren's television hostFred Rogers.
Rogers, who had a lifelong passion with the sky andastronomy, got a pilot's license while still in high school.[1] He also produced with the Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh aplanetarium show calledThe Sky above Mister Rogers' Neighborhood.[2] This is still shown at many planetariums in the United States.[3]
