Srna became a Shakhtar player in the summer of 2003. Over 15 years, he has made 536 appearances with the team and netted 49 goals. Starting from the 2007/08 season, he has been the team captain. Darijo boasts 26 trophies with Shakhtar: the UEFA Cup, 10 league titles, 7 Cups and 8 Super Cups of Ukraine.
 
As a sign of respect for the captain’s merits, for the first time in its history, FC Shakhtar has retired the number 33. It will forever belong to Darijo Srna.
