Did Doctor Who use the bi-generation gimmick again too quickly?
Bi-generation in Doctor Who was supposed to be very rare, and the Doctor believed it was a myth until it happened in "The Giggle." However, the Rani bi-generated in "The Interstellar Song Contest." The show implied that this was because the Time Lords were sterilized, but it was unclear exactly when this happened. I liked the idea of bi-generation, and while the new Rani was great, I felt that it undermined Anita Dobson's two-season portrayal of the character, and Mrs. Flood essentially became a goofy sidekick to her counterpart after.
Liam Neeson's Naked Gun looks like one of the best comedy reboots yet.
I've always found comedies to be one of the most remade and rebooted genres of cinema, falling just behind horror, and as is the case with all remakes, it's a very hit-or-miss past of efforts. That being said, while I was already excited after the first teaser, the proper full trailer for Liam Neeson's The Naked Gun reboot/revival looks like it will be one of the genre's best yet. It looks like it's keeping its tongue planted firmly in its cheek, even as Neeson's Frank Drebin Jr. risks slipping back into Taken's Bryan Mills, and seems to have a great mix of classic gags and new jokes to make for a fun modern update on the series.
What was the greenlit DC project James Gunn confirmed was just killed?
In a surprising turn of events, James Gunn has revealed that a previously greenlit DC project has just been killed, citing it as being an issue with the script, even though everyone was excited about the project. With no explicit confirmation of what it was, there are a number of projects it could be, and my bet is on Sgt. Rock. He did recently assure that pre-production on Clayface is going great, and, given the former encountered numerous hurdles with different castings and filming reschedules, I get the feeling he decided to pull the plug and start from scratch to make it work later down the line.
Does RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars show way too much favoritism towards certain queens?
I'm annoyed, but not surprised, at RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 10. The favoritism towards queens like Jorgeous is expected, but it's frustrating me that queens like her and Ginger Minj, who have competed on the show more than once, are getting wins and praise for lackluster performances in challenges. The judging hasn't been great lately, and while these queens aren't doing terribly, I know that many viewers cannot understand the logic behind some of the comments and wins, especially when others have done better.
Who was the better Moriarty: Andrew Scott in Sherlock or Natalie Dormer in Elementary?
Elementary and Sherlock are considered two of the best (if not so) TV adaptations of Sherlock Holmes. Both Andrew Scott in Sherlock and Natalie Dormer in Elementary do a fantastic job of bringing the villainous Jim/Jamie Moriarty to life, and I find it hard to pick which of the two is better. I love Scott's ability to emphasize certain words and his overall eerie tone, but I love the way Dormer balances playing two characters in one, too.
Which past Doctor Who moments should Anita have visited in season 15's finale?
In Doctor Who's "The Reality War," Anita makes an unexpected return, and visits multiple moments in the Doctor's life from past installments. For example, she sees Matt Smith's Eleventh Doctor playing chess in "The Wedding of River Song." I'd have loved her to see the Ninth Doctor during the events of "The Empty Child," specifically when he joins Nancy and the other children for dinner. Another I wished Anita had visited was when the Twelfth Doctor became Coal Hill School's caretaker in "The Janitor."
Would you be interested in a Daily Planet spin-off series for the DCU?
James Gunn's Superman has a pretty robust cast for the Daily Planet. Especially if the movie does well and audiences respond well, I think it'd be pretty cool to see a Daily Planet spin-off series. I think it could definitely help flesh out the DCU even further in some pretty cool way.
I think Lewis Pullman should play a Kylo Ren parody character in Spaceballs 2
Spaceballs 2 is very exciting, and I can't wait to see Rick Moranis, Mel Brooks, Daphne Zuniga, and Bill Pullman returning in their classic roles. However, Lewis Pullman playing Lone Star's star is perfect. While we know his name will be Starburst, I'm hoping that he'll end up being like a Kylo Ren parody character working against his father. I'm imagining him speaking with the mask of Dark Helmet, and it's hilarious.
Which upcoming summer movie are you most looking foward too?
There are a lot of great movies that will soon be released this summer. I'm cautiously optimistic about Jurassic World: Rebirth, and I think it has the potential to really surprise people. With any luck, it'll be better than Dominion (which I found to be pretty disappointing). I'm also incredibly excited for Superman and Fantastic Four.

MoreCan Mike Flanagan's Dark Tower TV series work without other Stephen King characters like Pennywise?
Mike Flanagan is developing The Dark Tower for Amazon, but one of the major hurdles is that they won't have legal rights to many of the Stephen King characters from other novels who appear throughout the series. For example, he cited Father Callahan as one he'd be missing. It's kind of a disappointing prospect, since part of what makes those books so appealing is the broader world-building, but I think the core story of the gunslinger can work on its own.
Who could Smallville's Michael Rosenbaum play in the DCU?
Michael Rosenbaum is pals with James Gunn, and with his legacy of playing Lex Luthor in Smallville and The Flash in Justice League and Justice League Unlimited, it seems like a missed opportunity not to have him in some role. Seeing him as a character in Creature Commandos or another animated series like Alan Tudyk could be fun, but I'd also love to see him get to play that same character in live-action. He could be fun as Ted Kord in a supporting role, with Jaime Reyes being the primary Blue Beetle in the DCU.
What features need to be added to Elden Ring Nightreign?
I think Elden Ring: Nightreign is a fantastic game with so much multiplayer potential, but the main thing I'd love to see is other maps eventually getting added. Elden Ring is such a vast, beautiful game with so many incredible settings. Even though Nightreign has incredible replay potential as is, adding more would be a ton of fun.
What summer movie release are you most looking forward to?
This summer is packed with blockbusters that will hopefully keep the theater industry going. From Superman and The Fantastic Four: First Steps, to Jurassic World Rebirth and M3gan 2.0, there really is something for everyone. I am a big fan of comic book movies, so I am most excited for Superman and The Fantastic Four: First Steps. If I had to choose though, I would say I am most looking forward to Superman. It is the start of James Gunn's DCEU and there is a lot of pressure riding on it. Personally, I cannot wait to see what he does with this universe.
Does Bachelor In Paradise season 10 look worth the watch?
Bachelor In Paradise season 10's first cast reveal really feels like it could be bringing a fun new energy to the show, and I'm looking forward to watching it. After the legacy of Paradise was tainted with its last season, I'm glad the show's taken a break and seems to be making some major changes. To a long-time fan and sometimes Bachelor skeptic, things look a lot more promising than they have in the past.
Those missing the innovative puzzles of the Professor Layton series MUST check out this new Game Pass release.
While there have certainly been plenty of puzzle-based adventure games in recent years, the Professor Layton series is inarguably one of the best examples of the genre of all-time. For those looking for a great replacement, the likes of The Witness, The Stanley Parable and Subliminal would once have been at the forefront of my recommendations, but now, my favorite new version has arrived with Blue Prince on Game Pass. There's just enough hand-holding that doesn't make it impossible to play, but also enough mystery and hands-off gameplay that really invites a range of strategies and exploration.
Should Cate Blanchett reprise her role as Valka in the live-action How To Train Your Dragon 2?
Cate Blanchett voices Hiccup's mother, Valka, in the animated How To Train Your Dragon 2, so she would be the perfect person to bring her to live-action in the upcoming sequel. It would be amazing to see her and Gerard Butler (who came back to the franchise to play Hiccup's father, Stoick, in live-action) on screen together as Hiccup's parents. She is the right age, still acting, and knows the character inside and out. I would love to see it and I know I am not the only fan that feels that way. Director Dean DeBlois has hinted that it is a possibility, so fingers crossed!
Now that Dune: Awakening is out, what features should the game add?
I'm not very far into Dune: Awakening, so there's a ton of material that I'm still unfamiliar with, but I'm really enjoying the game so far. The primary thing I'd love to eventually see is other planets. Even if one can't establish permanent settlements on them, it'd be interesting to see a planet like Lankiveil in an expansion where players can go compete for whale furs or other valuable resources, as an example. The game manages to make Arrakis feel vibrant, but I imagine other biomes might be beneficial in the long run.
Does Dakota Johnson's Lucy make the right choice in Materialists?
I imagine there will be plenty of viewers who think Lucy should have stayed with Pedro Pascal's Harry, but I think the choice she made was instrumental to the film. To me, Materialists is about the pain and superficial nature of dating, and meeting someone who makes you feel passionate and authentic in an unconditional way is really hard to come by. There are reasons why Lucy and John didn't work out the first time, but I think what she realizes is that, although society has forced part of her brain to be bitter about John's financial status, there's another, more genuine part of her that loves him anyway. She's a human being. Both of those things can be real simultaneously, and overcoming those reservations about another person is the sacrifice that love requires. It's never going to be perfect.
What shows will fill the void The Pitt left in my TV schedule?
Other than Animal Kingdom, which I think is worth the watch for Shawn Hatosy, I've been looking for shows that are either like The Pitt or star cast members from the show to fill the void left by its absence. I think Ozark has some similar vibes, and I'd like to watch Noah Wyle in The Librarians, but I'm not sure where else to look for that level of emotional depth on screen.
Is Animal Kingdom on Netflix worth the watch?
If you're into dark, character-driven crime dramas, I think Animal Kingdom is well worth the watch. It's a really clever and high quality show, and though it can test viewers' patience at times with the decisions the characters make, it's fun to watch anti-heroes move through the world in a way that makes you understand their motivations. I really enjoyed it!
What are the most skippable episodes of Friends?
While I’ll watch nearly every episode of Friends, I think there are a few that I’d skip if given the chance. For the most part, the clip show episodes that happen once every few seasons aren’t my cup of tea, but I think they served their purpose at the time of reminding viewers what had happened on the show. Otherwise, Ben Stiller’s guest spot on Friends season 3 episode 22 makes it a complete skip for me, as it's a filler episode where the big name guest actor screams the entire time.
I can't believe, 14 years later, how badly X-Men: First Class massacred a god-tier Marvel mutant.
X-Men: First Class remains one of my favorites of the Fox version of the franchise, as it nicely reintroduced the world to the Marvel mutants, while also introducing a new group of heroes to the fold. However, looking back on it, I can't believe how poorly the movie handled Edi Gathegi's Darwin, as he's not only one of the most powerful mutants in the comics, but his adaptability powers are virtually flawless, and the way the movie fails to offer any kind of meaningful explanation for why they didn't repel Sebastian Shaw's attack made it all the more disappointing. I hope that the Marvel Cinematic Universe finds a way to give the character a new lease on life and proper adaptation.
What age should the DCU's Wonder Woman be?
At 40, Gal Gadot will not be coming back as the DCU's Wonder Woman. I believe the studio is going to go for an actress in her early 30s for the role, which rules out 39-year-old Alexandra Daddario, a popular pick. That is due to how Superman is played by David Corenswet, who is 31. James Gunn said DC's new Batman could be a couple of years older than him, and Wonder Woman would likely be of similar age to the heroes. As such, I think whoever gets cast as the DCU Wonder Woman should be between 30 and 35.
Who's the most likely cheerleader to return on America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders season 2?
America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders season 2 is coming soon, and it'll feature quite a few familiar faces who are returning to try out for the squad. While I'm hopeful that there will be a ton of returning rookies who make it onto the squad this year, I think the most likely to try out again and make it is Charly Barby. Charly was one of the last cuts from America's Sweethearts season 1, and she's got the determination to make things work this season.
Was Zack Snyder right not to give Henry Cavill's Superman the red trunks?
When talking about putting the red trunks on the DCU Superman suit, James Gunn revealed that he talked to Zack Snyder about it, and the DCEU director said he tried many times to nail the look for Man of Steel but ended up going with no trunks for Henry Cavill's Superman. While I think the red trunks are iconic and make David Corenswet's Superman costume pop, I feel it was for the best that Cavill's Superman did not wear them, as they would not have fit with the tone of the stories the hero had in the DCEU.
Who will Belly end up with in The Summer I Turned Pretty season 3?
Not getting into book spoilers, I have seen reasons for Belly to end up with either Jeremiah or Conrad over the show's first two seasons. However, I have always felt there was more chemistry and yearning between Belly and Conrad than between her and Jer. After watching The Summer I Turned Pretty season 3's new trailer, I feel confident that Conrad will be the one Belly ends the show with.
Nearly 30 years later, what's really the better animated sitcom: The Simpsons or Family Guy?
It's crazy to think it's already been just over 30 years since The Simpsons premiered and nearly 30 since Family Guy aired, creating the age-old debate of which is ultimately the better animated sitcom. While I certainly love them both, I personally feel like Seth MacFarlane's series remains my favorite, largely because it continues to attempt to push the envelope in its stories, even if they don't always succeed. Meanwhile, The Simpsons feels like it's comfortable staying in the broadly amiable lane, which isn't bad, but apart from its Disney+ specials, I find myself less inclined to revisit as much as Family Guy.
Is the live-action How To Train Your Dragon better than the animated version?
The How To Train Your Dragon animated trilogy is top-tier. It is perfect, in my opinion, so I was cautiously optimistic going into the live-action adaptation, and I was blown away. Not only is it extremely faithful to the original, it takes the time add nuances and depth in certain places which I never knew I needed. I love both versions so dearly, so it is nearly impossible to say if one is better than the other. If I was forced to choose, I think I would select the animated version, mainly because of nostalgia.
What is the most skippable episode of Friends on a rewatch?
There are 236 episodes of Friends, so when I'm rewatching the show, I often choose to skip a few that I don't really enjoy as much as the rest of them. A consistent skip for me during rewatches has been "The One With The Fake Party," where Rachel makes a fool of herself many times throughout the episode in a desperate attempt to get Joshua's attention. She is better than that, and I don't really see anything to like in the episode.
