Reacher could never fill the voidBosch left behind after its seven-season run, but its upcomingNeagley spinoff might be the perfect replacement for the Titus Welliver show.
It has been a while since the mainBosch series ended its run. However, it is still hard not to miss the series because of how incredibly it captured its source material and because Prime Video's absolute best dad show. OnlyReacher has managed to achieve the same level of commercial and critical reach asBosch, but it seems significantly different in how it approached the detective thriller genre.
Owing to this, it seems a little unfair to callReacher the perfect replacement for Prime Video'sBosch. A closer look at itsupcomingNeagley spinoff, however, reveals that it could be much closer toBosch than expected.
Reacher & Bosch Are Two Completely Different Detective Shows

BothReacher andBosch focus on competent titular detectives, but their narratives function at completely different frequencies. Jack Reacher is portrayed more as a nomad detective who heavily relies on his Sherlock-level deduction and superhuman strength to solve criminal cases. He primarily operates outside the legal system and also comes off more as a vigilante.
Harry Bosch, in contrast, bends a few rules here and there, but his methods are grounded in LAPD procedure. His stories rarely rely on spectacle to please viewers and even his cases are usually confined to LA.
Reacher, meanwhile, ends up walking into a new town every season, hoping not to find trouble. To his dismay, trouble always finds him and, even in the most isolated corners of the world, he ends up getting embroiled in international conspiracies.
Put simply,Bosch is more of a prestige detective drama that is about the titular detective's struggles with his own darker tendencies as much as it is about the cases he solves.Reacher, on the other hand, riffs on the "mysterious stranger" trope and pleases viewers with its action scenes and compelling mysteries.
Reacher’s Neagley Spinoff Could Be Prime Video’s Perfect Bosch Replacement

Reacher's seasons 2 and 3 have already established that Neagley is a Chicago-based private investigator. When she is not teaming up with Reacher, she operates well within the legal system like Harry Bosch. She also does not possess nearly superhuman strength like Jack Reacher and uses forensic tools and devices to find clues in a crime.

The fact that she consistently deals with high-profile clients and navigates legal boundaries instead of being an outright vigilante makes her story align more with the neo-noir, investigative grit that defines Bosch.
Owing to this, even thoughReacher did not exactly fill the voidBosch left behind, it seems likeNeagley could do the job with its similar portrayal of grounded investigative work in a fixed setting.
Reacher follows Jack Reacher, a former military police investigator, as he navigates civilian life. Without a phone and carrying minimal belongings, Reacher drifts across the country, experiencing the nation he once served, and encounters intriguing challenges along the way.
