What a debut for Emerald Fennell. The ending of this film will haunt me for a long time, and it is such a complicated leading character. The style is impeccable, it is thrilling, and deeply psychological.
8/10Promising Young Woman is an incredible thriller that delves into heavy themes and features a flawed protagonist. The pop bubblegum-esque visuals are a nice contrast to the dark storyline. Promising Young Woman's ending is also memorable and will make you think long after the movie ends.
9/10Emerald Fennell wrote a fantasy for women and then ruined it at the end by saying she needed things to be realistic. A great idea with poor execution, and while I kind of understand why others love it, that ending really left a bad taste in my mouth.
