As elegantly stated in the header, this blog is aboutgay porn and otome gaming.

It used to be made up of two writers, Sandeian, and me, domshiki, but Sandeian has been on an indefinite hiatus for a couple years now so y’all stuck with my horseshit writing now.

I am your average pervert gamer who above anything else, enjoys a good story and something that can rip at my dusty heartstrings and make me cry like I just exited my mama’s womb.  Obviously then, I could not resist playing Key’s visual novels and that became the springboard for my entry into otome gaming.   TGS1 was the first real otome game I played but what really sold me was Hiiro no Kakera so I’ll always have a soft spot for it.

My absolute favourite visual novel is Sweet Pool.  The premise is fucking disgusting(like wtf highschool boys shitting meat monsters who the fuck wrote this shit) but as a Nitro+chiral fan, ofc I had to brave the bloody meat waters and play it right?  I have yet to find another game that made me ewroflwtfbbq as hard as it left me feeling completely shattered.  The guro aspect made me shit bricks as I laughed at the sheer ridiculousness of it all but somehow, the game made me look past it and just punched me in the gut over and over again as I played through everything and got nothing except tears and tragedy.  A highly unconventional game not only because of menstruating men but because there are no good ends and romantic love wasn’t the focus. Obviously not something I’d recommend to most people andnot something I’d put up on my eharmony profile lolol.  A more SFW series I’m currently into right now is Hana Awase.  Plenty of drama, horny teenaged boys and confusion goin on in this one.

As for other games,I’m a filthy casual and haven’t played much.  My current favourite is the Mass Effect series – the lore, world and characters are amazing and despite the shitty ending, I was still crushed for days when I finished it.  Other games I pursue religiously are Rune Factory, Ace Attorney and Pokemon.  I’m also a terrible League player and spend most of my time feeding and doing stupid shit like adc Morgana or support Corki.

Outside of gaming, I read a fair bit of manga (not so much anime anymore) and I love seinen, especially series like Berserk, Shutoheru and Black Lagoon. I’m a sucker for tits, violence, tragedy and fantasy settings – even better if there’s some sort of war and history thrown in.  Surprisingly, I can read and have recently got into fantasy books so I welcome any recommendations, having read only the Stormlight Archive, GoT, Kingkiller Chronicles and part of Malazan Book of the Fallen.

…alright fine I’ll confess:my guilty pleasure is trashy shoujo manga.

As stated above, there used to be another writer here. Since she left, I’ve been holding down the fort by myself and for now,the future of this blog is unclear: I myself, have considered quitting many times as my shitty time management and university life make it hard for me to finish an entire game and then do a writeup on a regular basis.  I used to be able to shit out a post at least once a month but as of late, it’s been once a year or less.  It also seems that most otome games are now out on the PSVITA and I currently don’t have any intention of buying one.  In any case,I do wish to keep writing and will do my halfhearted best to continue butchering otome games for now.

On a final note,YES IT IS WELL ESTABLISHED ALREADY THAT MY WRITING IS SHITTY AND OFFENSIVE AND I AM VERY VERY SORRY.    PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT TAKE ME SERIOUSLY.

And additionally, NO I do not do translations and I am not going to release patches. My Japanese is too atrocious for that sort of thing and I am going to leave it to the dedicated and highly competent translating groups out there already.

      *RAAAAAGE* i want moar bungaku shoujo. the mystery is pretty rubbish but it still pulls u in. too bad konoha totally pisses the shit outta me. hows kara no kyoukai? wish i cud get lite novels ere but they all shit pricey and most on the net are simplified and i ain’t too good with that.

        Bungaku Shoujo is well-written and illustrated, but I agree that the mystery isn’t done particularly well. It’s better to treat it as a romance/drama novel than to call it a mystery. (I bought the Galerie d’Art and Fantasy Art Book. Pretty pictures are pretty.)

        Kara no Kyoukai is, well, interesting so far. The POV-switching reminds me of bad fanfiction, but it gets better. Tons of philosophising, so I consider it an exercise in my skills of understanding.
        Also, I had no idea that there would be a ginormous (77*35 cm) poster when I bought vol. 1, and I still don’t know where to put it. ._.

        Learn to read Simplified. Reason: Mainland Chinese stuff is everywhere. (A side effect of this is writing in two scripts at once – I tend to alternate between 时 and 時.) But really, someone needs to make something to convert any webpages between those two. (Google, I’m looking at you.)

        OK, I shall accept that you aren’t a chantard. (I fish for images on /c/ when i have an hour or so to spare.)
        4chan was created on a China national day. What?

        I wish homework took such little time. What am I doing back here? I still have 2 Chinese essays and a Maths assignment to do!

        yeah i was pretty disappointed cuz it was so popular and etc but the mystery was like “…wtf?” esp the first book. second bk got a lil btr (CUZ OF RYUUTO HE’S SO CUTE) but felt like a cheap copy of wuthering heights so lol. still, konoha pisses me off the whole time. *rages dat u has the art bks* ><

        heh philosophy shit awesome man. but i wudnt get it in chinese cuz my chinese is balls bad (i'm amazed i can get bungaku shoujo as it is) T.T ah the woes of not being some way off the charts genius like u.

    In Poland there are many, many kids (11-30 yrs :P) who love manga&anime and Japan with chopsticks, yukatas, samurai' swords, bento and all that stuff. xD Just kiddin', there are people who really enjoy japanese culture with its history, but our market is just not prepared for japanese games like those. Just few know what VN is and it's because of our critics who don't want to open for new experiences, and stay with things that THEY liked.

    I'm a girl who'd love to play otome games, but like I said earlier it's hard to get them even from "close" abroad (and I don't know japanese…) so I decided to introduce this type of games to my country with your POV's help and permission, of course.

    It's hard to me, writing in English since our language is really difficult to translate into English – but it's so much easier in the opposite direction! (like always…) So me and my friends who'd love to help, we can spend our time and share with the polish internet these reviews in our language.

    Especially in english. Or if I can’t find any in english I was hoping to find something that could translate them.

      Oh, the good old days when I didn't know any japanese and would just play the otome games on skip and hunt for the cgs. dwbi, with a little perseverance you will know enough of the language to play the games :D From my experience, Japanese is the easiest language I've learned so far but that's probably because I know chinese so the kanji part is a breeze

      and as usual, I answer your question in the fashion I normally do when it's asked: what would you like me to be? ;)

      I rmb being utterly confused initially when a lot of the comments were “WAH YU SO FAAHHHNNY” until I went back and actually proofread my posts as a whole and realised how completely high I sound rofl. You should defs play some of em! I recommend saikin koishiteru if you want something without the typical super draggy plots of Otomate and want sth that’ll make you shit your pants laughing

    I was looking for your review of the “Gin no Kanmuri Ao no Namida”. I remember I once read it here, but can’t find it anymore. I can’t play these games because I don’t know the language, but at least reading your reviews was always funny and cheered me up :D What happened to that review? Can I read it somewhere?       I know, sorry guys but I’ve got so much on my plate rn and I’m looking at all the new games that have come out and I’m like HOE-LEEEEEEEEE SHIT das a lot of ground to cover. Doing my best to finish some posts I’ve half written though if that’s any consolation HAHAHA :’D

  25. I dunno if you guys will even see this, but I really miss your reviews and recommend you to all my friends for fujoshi needs — I mean insightful visual novel reviews. Your sense of humor is very much in line with ours and while some of them are not visual novel fans, they still enjoy your reviews.

    I’ve been recommending you more lately for your Dramatical Murder review because I found out a lot of my fujoshi babies — I mean corrupted innocents, have only been subsisting on the anime and hearsay. So obviously, in order to better inform them of the storyline, I guided them here.

    Is it possible to fix the link for the Togainu no Chi review? I think my hints of gimps, hot boy-on-boy action, and battle games have piqued their interest. And the anime sucked so a lot of them won’t play the game…but they’ll read a review if it’s from you guys!

    P.S. No pressure on returning to updating. Life is kicking me while I’m down right now too.

      LOL I bet your friends loved reading about the wonderful sexbot lion + snake + rapist twins x Aoba part ;) The link for TnC actually isn't broken – I took it down because it was so absolutely incoherent, too terrible even by my horseshit review standards. It was the first BL game I played, back when my Japanese was exceptionally shitty and I've been meaning to replay it….one day and rewrite the post….one day. Until then, I suggest directing your friends to other, better written reviews out there, sorry about that.

      In any case, you hang in there too my friend, GET BACK UP AND PUNCH LIFE RIGHT BACK IN THE NUTS
