Occasionally, the Council encounters fishery management issues that require more dedicated attention in addition to regularly scheduled meetings. To address these issues, workgroups are comprised of experts in the subject at question and are assigned to develop recommendations for the Council. Any recommendations from the group will be considered by the Council through the Fishery Management Plan amendment development process.
