Copa Centro-Sul -- List of ChampionsIn 1968, CBD assumed the organization ofRoberto Gomes Pedrosa tournamentand created, aside this tournament, the Centro-Sul andNorte-Nordeste cups.1968 - Grêmio de Esportes Maringá (Maringá-PR)1969 - not finished1970 - not realizedIn 1971, when CBD extended the right of participation to any interestedstate of Brazil and turned the Roberto Gomes Pedrosa tournament into theCampeonato Brasileiro, the Centro-Sul and Norte-Nordeste cups became theofficialBrazilian Second Level. So, the Centro-Sul and Norte-Nordestecups can be considered, in some sense, predecessors of the BrazilianSecond Level, just like the Roberto Gomes Pedrosa is considered theprecursor of the Brazilian First Level.
