Tankoa knows a thing or two about building upon its success.
The Italian shipbuilder just unveiled its sporty newsuperyacht, known as the S520, at thePalm Beach International Boat Show this year. Spanning 170 feet, the head-turning vessel takes some design cues fromTankoa’sS501 model and brings them to new heights, allowing it to make its own statement with even more space to enjoy the high seas.
Francesco Paczkowski was tapped to bring the S520, with its striking gunmetal-gray hull and sporty profile, to life. The design studio, as mentioned, is built upon the existing S501 model for this latest launch with the aim of increasing the superyacht’s outdoor areas. And they certainly did just that: The team chose to lengthen the platform, boost the square footage of the sun deck, and enhance the size of the upper deck sky lounge and flybridge. That made enough space on the sun deck for an infinity pool for some prime views.

As is the case with other Tankoa superyachts, that’s notthe only pool onboard. There’s also one in the stern, which Paczkowski has revamped to seamlessly connect to the beach club, the aft platform, and the main deck. The two-level beach club offers two side platforms, two sunbathing spots along the exterior line, and multiple portholes that allow light to filter into the space. The upper deck aft also got a size boost (thanks to the relocation of the staircases), allowing for a full dedicated entertainer’s haven, while the upper deck forward is fit for storing your favorite toys.
Heading inside, you’ll also catch a glimpse at changes from the S520’s predecessor that Paczkowski and interior designer Margherita Casprini joined forces to dream up. Besides offering higher ceilings and larger windows than the S501, Tankoa’s new launch has overlapping panels and partitions nestled with its design, carving out distinct areas through the interior. You’ll find an abundance of gray and cream colors here, along with pops of red to bring a touch of color to the curvy spaces. Those hues continue into the large owner’s suite, which has its own lounge, study, walk-in closet, and vanity, as well as an owner’s bathroom.
“We are so thrilled to showcase our latest S520 model created in collaboration with some of the best minds in the business,” Vincenzo Poerio, CEO of Tankoa, said in a statement. “She is the epitome of Tankoa, bigger and better than ever and anticipating the future needs of owners in her winning combination of aesthetics and functionality.
Tankoa is no stranger to the design power of Paczkowski and Casprini. The shipyard worked with the duo on itsDiamond Binta, which we got a closer look at earlier this year. That 190-foot superyacht, in addition to a helipad and a climate-controlled gym, has a spa-jet pool perched on its flybridge. Though, if you’re a cinephile,Greywould be much more your speed: That vessel comes with a 144-inch retractable movie screen right in front of its swimming pool. The best seat in the house, indeed.
