Windows NT este o serie desisteme de operareWindows dezvoltate deMicrosoft, scrise în limbajele de programareC șiC++. Acestea au fost primele care au folosit noul nucleu „NT” (New Technology). Aceasta însemna că dispuneau de un nucleu complet nou, capabil să facă mai multe lucruri decât cel bazat peMS-DOS folosit în versiunile mai vechi de Windows. Prima versiune publică a fost lansată în iulie 1993.
