Hey everyone,
I'm not planning to monetize any of my Android apps, but I still want to publish them on Google Play without showing my personal address.
I know newer developer accounts have to go through the new testing and verification requirements, while older accounts (like mine) don't, which is a nice perk.
Here's the problem: my old account was set up years ago with monetization enabled. As far as I know, once you select that option, you can't turn it off. And if monetization is enabled, your address automatically appears on your app's Play Store listing.
The workaround I currently use is to publish the app from my old developer account, then transfer it to a newer account that isn't set up for monetization. After the transfer, the address no longer shows publicly.
I'm curious—has anyone found another way to hide or remove the address without doing this transfer trick? Maybe some new method or setting that works in 2025?
Would love to hear if anyone's discovered a better or easier approach!
