2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, butwe believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.
We are 100% user-supported! Help and donate $5, $10, $20 or whatever you can today withPayPal Logo.png!

Ray Comfort
Ray Comfort, leading the charge againstSwedishatheistcat eating.

Raymond "Ray" Comfort (1949–), also known asBanana Man, is an amazing mustache attached to aProtestantChristian author, video producer, street preacher, andliar for Jesus.

Comfort is ayoung Earth creationist and opposesevolution. His arguments for a youngEarth are entirely unfounded inscience, demonstrate basic misunderstandings of evolution and science in general, andoften aren't even based on reality. For example, he is well known for hisbanana argument, which claims that the banana is so perfect that it must have beenintelligently designed in nature, although the banana is a product of humanartificial selection. He also really likes linkingHitler and evolution.

Comfort frequently attacksatheism, humanism, and the lack ofGod-worship as the sources of modernsins, such ashomosexuality and school shootings. He frequently discusses supposedly iron-clad proofs of God (which generally rely on "common sense" andPascal's Wager) and methods ofevangelism (which generally rely onspamming out a list of pre-writtenloaded questions).
