ThePhilippine-Korea Friendship Center (PKFC) is situated on a 6,000 square meter lot allocated by the Department of National Defense, located at Bayani Road, Taguig City. The center houses the Philippine Expeditionary Force To Korea (PEFTOK) Korean War Memorial Hall (PKWMH) and the Philippine-Korea Technological Cooperation Center (PKTCC). It features a blend of traditional and modern Korean architecture, providing visitors with a sense of being in the Land of Morning Calm.
The center’s origins trace back to the wishes of the Korean Ministry of Patriot and Veterans (MPVA) expressed through the Republic of Korea Ambassador, His Excellency Choi Joong-Kyung, to establish a memorial hall for PEFTOK veterans on June 26, 2008. This proposal was timed to coincide with the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the Republic of the Philippines and the Republic of Korea. Its purpose was to create a memorial that would endure for generations, commemorating the sacrifices and bravery of the Filipino Veterans who fought for Korea’s freedom and democracy. The construction of the PKFC was completed in 2010.
