Professional wrestling career[]

As Sergeant Buddy Lee Parker, DeWayne Bruce wrestled inWorld Championship Wrestling (WCW) with tag partnerLieutenant James Earl Wright asThe State Patrol. He became a member of theDungeon of Doom under the short-lived identityBraun The Leprechaun before being repackaged as "Military Man"Jack Boot. Boot only lasted a short time before Buddy Lee Parker returned, this time as a Military Sergeant. Bruce's final wrestling persona was simplySarge, and after this, he became a trainer at the official WCW wrestling school,the Power Plant. He would occasionally pop up onWCW Saturday Night as an enhancement talent, during his lesser famed career, and WCW commentators would credit him multiple times for training the highly popularBill Goldberg. Towards the end of WCW, Bruce was involved in a somewhat major storyline where he teamed up with Goldberg to wrestle againstLex Luger and Buff Bagwell.

Bruce also made an appearance onLouis Theroux's Weird Weekends. When Theroux asked him about the use of storylines in wrestling, Bruce felt this was disrespectful, and forced Theroux to exercise until he was physically sick.

Former WWE SuperstarBatista says he went for an open trial at WCW's Powerplant, where Bruce drilled him and a friend into the ground, causing them to throw up viciously. Despite that, Bruce reportedly demanded that the pair continue. Batista believes Bruce has "the biggest case of Napoleon syndrome" ever and he considers Bruce a "piece of shit." As well as being known for his tough tryouts at the WCW Power Plant, he is also known for his "Who's Who list that was trained at the WCW Power Plant such asBill Goldberg,Dallas Page,Kevin Nash,The Giant/Paul White, andTorrie Wilson.
