Oops! I *think* I broke it by spam clicking the 'create a planet' button! It started crediting me by about 2000 atoms a second all of a sudden (when before I had very little). Maybe you missed a guard against a value going negative?
Anyway, I think this is a pretty solid idle game! The music was a great fit and I liked all the little details with the planets and things merging. I'm a little sad there's nothing to click on while you're waiting for things - give our little monkey brains something to do :D
The art is awesome. Interesting concept for an idle game. Three points of improvement: 1. I couldn't figure out the consequences of my actions. Why am I throwing atoms into space? Why am I building a sun? etc. 2. There was a point (before I'd even unlocked galaxies) where my atom production seemed to spiral into infinity. I could never buy enough stuff to run out of resources. It is fine for a short idle game like this, but for a much larger idle game the scaling would need to be fixed. 3. I found the beginning of the game to be rather slow and the ending to be rather fast. Typically idle games follow the opposite trend in order to hook in the player initially. You may want to rebalance the pace at which your player is required to perform actions throughout the lifecycle of your game. Overall, this was a really fun game jam submission! Great work!
Thank you so much for your comment, those are all valid points. For teh first point, everything is actually explained in the godmaker wiki if you look for it.
But about the pacing, you are absolutely right, I was having trouble juggling the idea of making an idle game lasting more than 10 minutes and making something under 10 minutes so anyone in teh game and the judges could actually complete it in a short setting.
I fully agree that a full game out of this would need quite a bit of rebalancing.
I really like the music! Over all its pretty cool, definitely an idle game! Waiting gets better as it should, the more you have in the universe. It's honestly really relaxing! I love this idea and concept for an idle game, such a good one! I also love that you put your face in there and the "hello" is perfect! Really cool!
