Hyperdub Vocalist the Spaceape Has Died
Collaborator with Burial and Kode9 passes away after a fight with cancer

Stephen Samuel Gordon, aka vocalistthe Spaceape, has died. The news was announcedby his label, Hyperdub, who said the cause was a rare form of cancer. "Our sincere condolences go out to his family and friends, and all who have been touched by his writings and performances," they write. "His Hyperdub family will always miss him."
The Spaceape frequently collaborated with Hyperdub founderKode9. Their collaboration "Sine of the Dub" was the first release on the label. The duo also put out two albums: 2006's Memories of the Future and 2011's Black Sun. The duo had recently released a new EP, The Killing Season. The Spaceape also appeared on Burial's 2006 track "Spaceape".
