The Development of Students' Lower Limb Strength through the Implementation of a Functional Training Program Using Aqua-Fit Equipment.Andreea-MariaTasca &Dana Badau -2025 -Postmodern Openings 15 (1):32-42.
The aim of this study was to develop explosive strength in the lower limbs of students by implementing an experimental functional training program using Aqua-Fit equipment, specifically targeting university students enrolled in non-sports-related academic programs. This study was conducted over 14 weeks, structured: the first week of the initial test, 12 weeks of training, and the last week of the final test. A total of 40 students, aged 19-25, specializing in general medicine, participated in functional training sessions as part of (...) their physical education classes, conducted twice a week over 12 weeks, with one 60-minute session per week. The evaluation focused on the Squat Jump test on both the right and left leg, using OptoJump technology, quantifying parameters such as contact time, flight time, jump height, power, and student progress. The results indicated a statistically significant p<0.05 improvement in all test parameters: maximum contact time, maximum flight time, maximum jump height, and maximum power. The most remarkable progress was observed in the jump height parameter for both the right and left leg. The Cohen’s d values were all< 0.8, indicating a very large effect size, demonstrating the effectiveness of the experimental training program using Aqua Fit equipment. The findings suggest that the functional training program utilizing Aqua-Fit equipment contributes to improving lower limb strength parameters. (shrink)

    Customer Churn Prediction in Telecommunication Industry. A Data Analysis Techniques Approach.DenisaMaria Melian,Andreea Dumitrache,Stelian Stancu &Alexandra Nastu -2022 -Postmodern Openings 13 (1 Sup1):78-104.
Telecommunications is one of the most dynamic sectors in the market, where the customer base is an important pawn in receive safe revenues, so is important to focus attention is paid to maintaining them with an active status. Migrating customers from one network to another varies among telecommunication companies depending on different factors such as call quality, pricing plan, minute consumption, data, sms facilities, customer billing issues, etc. Determining an effective predictive model helps detect early warning signals when churn occurs (...) and assigns to each customer a score called “churn score” that indicates the likelihood that the individual might migrate to another network over a predefined time period. To this extent, the present paper uses more than 10k customers sample of a telecommunication company and tries to analyse the churn behavior. The aim of the paper is both to test the efficiency and performance of the most commonly used data mining techniques to predict the churn behavior and to underline the main indicators that can be used when conducting such analyses. Knowing the magnitude of the churn phenomenon, the company can prevent the instability that is going to occur by applying a series of measure in order to increase the retention of the current customers. Practical Education 2 Volume Set.Maria Edgeworth &Richard Lovell Edgeworth -2012 - Cambridge University Press.
The scientist Richard Lovell Edgeworth, educated at Trinity College, Dublin, and Oxford, was a Member of the Lunar Society of Birmingham, where he exchanged ideas with other scientists, including James Watt, and was known for his significant mechanical inventions. However, Edgeworth's real interest was education: in this 1788 two-volume work, written with his daughter, the poetMaria Edgeworth, he draws on his own experience of raising twenty children, from which the work derives its authority and innovative character. The work (...) was very influential, and led to his Essays on Professional Education. The two volumes discuss the theories of philosophers and educationalists, while in general arguing for the importance and formative character of early childhood experiences. Volume 1 deals with areas such as play, obedience and behaviour, and Volume 2, with creativity, and public and private education. (shrink)

Palavras chaves – ética – educação – moral – família - escola - sociedade (200 words) We can find different concepts in history of Ethics. This article deals with the idea that it is necessary to identify a concept of Ethics in order to discuss about its relation to Education. Moral is a concept that comes to mind when we think about Ethics. Because of this a discussion about this concept and its relation to Ethics is presented. To discuss Ethics means to understand it in society because it can’t happen to a person alone. People relate themselves in society and Ethics is the basic foundation to social life. Before we can observe Ethics in society as a whole it is possible to discover that Ethics begins in family life. School is the specific place in society that helps family to build the relation between Ethics and Education. Philosophers and educators agree about the importance of educating children to be ethical citizens but concepts of Ethics they may use are somehow different. Relative Ethics and Universal Ethics are the major groups of concepts that we can find in literature. We conclude that to become a whole human being each person needs to feel integrated to humankind and this is only possible through universal concepts of Ethics. Keywords – ethics – education – moral – family – school - society  . (shrink)

  22. Beauty as an encounter between freedom and nature: A romantic interpretation of Kant's critique of judgment.María Rosario Acosta Lópedelz -2007 -Epoché: A Journal for the History of Philosophy 12 (1):63-92.
This essay presents a possible interpretation of the concept of beauty in Kant’s Critique of Judgment, which was itself suggested by Kant in the two introductionsto the text and gained force among the Early German Romantics and Idealists, introducing an alternative point of view into the concept of beauty and the role it plays in the relationship between reason and sensibility, man and world. Through the analysis of the four moments of the Analytic of the Beautiful, beauty will manifest itself (...) as the realm in which a special encounter between human freedom and nature takes place. Therefore, and as an alternative to some traditional interpretations of Kant’s aesthetic investigation, which understand Kant’s judgment of taste exclusively on the basis of its subjective conditions, the judgment of beauty will present itself also in the relationship it establishes with the objects of nature.
