December 2017: Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson officially announce they are expecting

First comes house, then comes baby? PEOPLE confirmed in September that Kardashian and Thompson were going to have their first child together. "Yes,Khloé and Tristan are expecting, and they are absolutely thrilled," the source said. "This is something Khloé has wanted for years and years, and yet it's more than that: she didn't want it unless she was in the right relationship for it."

Kardashian and Thompson took their time announcing the pregnancy to the world, though, waiting until December to publicly confirm the news. "My greatest dream realized!" Kardashianwrote on Instagram, alongside a photo of Thompson cradling her bump. "We are having a baby! I still at times can't believe that our love created life!"

March 2018: Khloé Kardashian reveals she and Tristan Thompson are having a daughter

Kardashian revealed in March 2018 that she and Thompson are expecting a daughter. "I am now so excitedmy daughter will have forever best friends with Chicago and Stormi!!" shewrote on Twitter (now X). "God is great!!! Thank you Lord for our princess."

April 7, 2018: Tristan Thompson is rumored to be cheating on Khloé Kardashian

With just days to go before Kardashian gave birth, Thompson was seen speaking closely to a woman at a bar in Manhattan. Another video saw that same girl entering a hotel with Thompson at 5 a.m., prompting allegations that Thompson was cheating on Kardashian. "Tristan has been consistently cheating on Khloé," a source told PEOPLE. "He's a serial cheater. And there will be more women to come out of the woodwork."

April 12, 2018: Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson welcome their daughter, True

She's here! The reality starwelcomed her first child, a baby girl namedTrue, with boyfriend Tristan Thompson on April 12, multiple sources confirmed to PEOPLE, a few days after cheating allegations against Thompson surfaced.

"Khloé labored with [mom Kris Jenner] yesterday at the hospital. Tristan was there for the birth," aKeeping Up with the Kardashians insider told PEOPLE. "He has practice today but will spend as much time at the hospital as possible."

"Everyone is focused on what's best for their baby girl," the source added. "Khloé is being the bigger person and letting Tristan bond with their baby."

November 2018: Khloé Kardashian has a "really tough" time over Tristan Thompson's cheating scandal

As theKeeping Up with the Kardashiansepisodes documenting Thompson's cheating scandal and True's birth air,old wounds have been reopened. While watching the show, Kardashian tweeted that her boyfriend was "lucky" she was nine months pregnant when she found out about his indiscretions. Seven months after Thompson broke her heart, the new mom was having a "really tough" time and still had "a lot of hurt and anger," a source told PEOPLE.

February 2019: Tristan Thompson faces allegations he cheated on Khloé Kardashian again

Another cheating scandal put Kardashian and Thompson at odds again.TMZ reported that Thompson cheated on Kardashian withKylie Jenner's best friend and longtime Kardashian family friendJordyn Woods.

Within an hour of the reports, Thompson tweeted, "FAKE NEWS" to seemingly deny what happened, but then deleted the tweet shortly after. After the story broke, a source told PEOPLE, "The whole family is furious."

March 1, 2019: Khloé Kardashian accuses Jordyn Woods of breaking up her relationship with Tristan Thompson

On March 1, Woods appeared on family friendJada Pinkett Smith'sRed Table Talk to set the record straight. She admitted to hanging out with Thompson and a group of friends at the basketball player's house following a night out at a club, and said he briefly kissed her as she left in the early hours of the morning.

"I'm no home wrecker," Woods said. "I would never try to hurt someone's home, especially someone that I love. And someone that I've seen — has a beautiful daughter. I never was trying to steal someone's man."

In the wake of Woods' interview, Kardashiantweeted angrily about the situation.

"Why are you lying @jordynwoods ?? If you're going to try and save yourself by going public, INSTEAD OF CALLING ME PRIVATELY TO APOLOGIZE FIRST, at least be HONEST about your story. BTW, You ARE the reason my family broke up!"Kardashian wrote.

The reality star quickly followed up with a second tweet, calling out the NBA player for his role in the scandal.

"Tristan is equally to blame but Tristan is the father of my child,"she tweeted. "Regardless of what he does to me I won't do that to my daughter. He has been addressing this situation PRIVATELY. If Tristan were to lie publicly about what conspired, then yes I would address him publicly as well."

One day later, she softened her stance on Woods. "This has been an awful week & I know everyone is sick of hearing about it all (as am I). I'm a rollercoaster of emotions & have said things I shouldn't have,"she wrote. "Honestly, Tristan cheating on me & humiliating me, wasn't such a shock as the first time."

"What's been harder & more painful is being hurt by someone so close to me,"she tweeted. "Someone whom I love & treat like a little sister. But Jordyn is not to be blamed for the breakup of my family. This was Tristan's fault."

After staying out of the spotlight for a while, Woods was seen in public, though the future of her friendship with best friend Kylie Jenner wasunclear at the time.

Sept. 8, 2019: Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson have first public reunion since Jordyn Woods cheating scandal

TheKeeping Up with the Kardashians season 17 premiere took fans inside Kardashian and Thompson'sfirst public reunion since he cheated on her with Jordyn Woods in February. Kardashian was conflicted about whether or not she should invite Thompson to True's first birthday party, but she ultimately decided to let him come. She invited him over the night before so they could "get the wholeinitial weird first seeing each other out of the way in private," but things were still tense when he showed up to the party.

Kardashian did her best to remain civil and even suggested they take a family photo. But beyond her and Thompson, her biggest concern was how her ex would interact with her sister Kim, who has been the most outspoken critic of the relationship.

"This situation, it's a little awkward," Kardashian said. "Everyone is staring at us, and I'm really concerned, a little uncomfortable, about Kim and Tristan's dynamic."

As it turns out, Thompson ended up having a confrontation with Kim's then-husband, Kanye West.

West later explained that Thompson was upset about the fact that the family used the intro to West's song "Runaway" in aKUWTKteaser. (The lyrics reference toasting to "a-------" and "scumbags.")

"He felt like we were using my music to reinforce his narrative," West said.

But Kardashian wasn't having it and stormed off in tears. "I don't need at my daughter's birthday party for any of this to be a discussion," she fumed.

"I know everyone's intention is to help and be protective," she added. "But at True's birthday party, it's not the right timing."

July–August 2020: Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson are "giving their relationship another try"

On July 1, a source told PEOPLE the two were "giving their relationship another try" amid the coronavirus pandemic.

"Tristan is working hard to prove himself and has been a great dad to True," the source added of their 2-year-old daughter.

Kardashian and Thompson's decision to rekindle their romance came after theRevenge Body starrang in her 36th birthday the weekend prior. The NBA player was in attendance, along with their daughter and Kardashian's siblings Rob, Kourtney, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, as well as mom Kris Jenner.

A second source told PEOPLE that Kardashian and Thompson "acted like they were back together" at her birthday bash.

"The lockdown made them closer," another source said. "They hadn't spent this much time together since they lived in Cleveland. They have had an amazing spring with True in L.A."

Ahead of her birthday festivities, Thompsonshared a heartfelt tribute to Kardashianon Instagram, posting an adorable picture of himself and the reality star with their baby girl.

"I'm wise enough now to know you came into my life to show me just what it means to be an incredible person," Thompson captioned his post. "I appreciate how I am able to learn from and grow because of you."

Thompson added, "I thank God for the beautiful and loving woman you are to everyone, especially our daughter True. You deserve the world Koko! True and I love you mama. Happy Birthday @khloekardashian ❤️🥳."

Kim commented on the post, telling Thompson that his words were "so beyond sweet ✨."

By August, a source told PEOPLE the two were "together."

"She loves having him around. He has the best relationship with True," the source said. "And he has been amazing to Khloé too. They are very much together, and Khloé is beyond happy. They have been living in kind of a bubble, and Khloé enjoys it."

March 13, 2021: Khloé Kardashian celebrates Tristan Thompson's 30th birthday

The pair appeared to still be very much together on Thompson's 30th birthday, with Kardashian posting photos fromwhat appeared to be an intimate gathering on March 13. Her family alsoshared sweet tributes to the basketball star on social media.

"The ones that are meant to be are the ones who go through everything that is designed to tear them apart, and they came out even stronger than they were before," Kardashian wrote alongside several images of the family of three spending time together.

"Thank you for showing me everything you said you would. For the father you are. For the best friend I have in you," she continued. "I'm thankful that I can do absolutely nothing with you, and it feels like everything. I hope you know today and every day how loved you are by me and so many."

May 2021: Khloé Kardashian discusses having another baby with Tristan Thompson via surrogacy

During the final season ofKeeping Up with the Kardashians, the star opened up about her difficult fertility journey and howshe considered possibly using a surrogate to have a second child with Thompson.

"A few months ago, Tristan and I made embryos, and during that time I was also told that I would not be smart if I carried my second pregnancy, I would be high risk and to explore surrogacy options, so Tristan and I have decided that's what we're going to do. I have a surrogate agent who is, you know, sort of filtering through who they think might be the best fit for me and my family," Kardashian explained in her confessional.

"It is a big commitment, and you want to find the right fit, but we got this new chapter, we've got this together, we're a team," added Thompson.

June 20, 2021: Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson split after celebrating Father's Day

Thecouple spent Father's Day together with their 3-year-old daughter, True, in Los Angeles, a source told PEOPLE.

"Tristan is back in L.A. to celebrate Father's Day with Khloé and True. He spent a lot of time away from L.A. during the [basketball] season," the source explained, adding that "Khloé is happy to have him back."

"She and Tristan are good. They are planning some summer vacations together," the source continued. "They also still talk about giving True a sibling."

Thompsonshared a few snaps from his Father's Day celebration over the weekend with pics of himself posing with son Prince, whom he shares with ex Jordan Craig, and True.

But two days later, a source told PEOPLE Kardashian and Thompson had split again.

"They arenot together right now," the source said. "The ups and downs with Tristan were always very frustrating for Khloé. She has worked so hard to trust Tristan."

A second source told PEOPLE the pair "are trying to be on good terms," adding, "Khloé will do what's best for True."

According to TMZ and theNew York Post's Page Six, whichfirst reported the split, the couple split a few weeks ago, after Instagram model Sydney Chase claimed in April that she slept with Thompson in the fall while he was with Kardashian. (Thompson's lawyer denied the allegations at the time,per TMZ.)

The news of the split also came on the heels of aDaily Mailreport that Thompson was seen partying with multiple women in Los Angeles the weekend prior.

Dec. 6, 2021: Khloé Kardashian learns Tristan Thompson is expecting his third child with another woman

In December 2021, news broke thatThompson had another baby on the way: Texas personal trainer Maralee Nichols was due to welcome his child before the new year.

Court documents obtained by PEOPLE showed that Nichols was suing the NBA player for child support and other pregnancy-related fees. According to the docket, the Sacramento Kings star admitted to having sex with the personal trainer on at least one occasion.

Responding to the report, a source told PEOPLE that Kardashian was feeling frustrated and "knows about the baby."

According to the insider, Kardashian and Thompson were together in March when Nichols claimed she was involved with the athlete.

"Khloé was upset to find out that he cheated again," the source said. "She just can't believe that he is going to be a dad again."

January 3, 2022: Tristan Thompson addresses Khloé Kardashian as he confirms that he fathered Maralee Nichols's son

Thompson said paternity results revealed that he is the father of Maralee Nichols' son andconfirmed the news in an Instagram Story on Jan. 3.

"Today, paternity test results reveal that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols. I take full responsibility for my actions. Now that paternity has been established, I look forward to amicably raising our son," he began his lengthy statement.

"I sincerely apologize to everyone I've hurt or disappointed throughout this ordeal both publicly and privately," he continued.

Thompson had previously disputed the paternity of the child,born on Dec. 1.

In his message, Thompson also addressed ex Khloé Kardashian — whom he was dating when Nicholssaid the child was conceived.

"Khloé, you don't deserve this. You don't deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you," he wrote.

"You don't deserve the way I have treated you over the years. My actions certainly have not lined up with the way I view you. I have the utmost respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think. Again, I am so incredibly sorry."

July 13, 2022: Khloé Kardashian confirms she is having a second child with Tristan Thompson via surrogate

On July 13, a rep for Kardashian told PEOPLE that she and Thompson wereexpecting another child together via surrogate.

"Khloé is incredibly grateful to the extraordinary surrogate for such a beautiful blessing. We'd like to ask for kindness and privacy so that Khloé can focus on her family."

A source told PEOPLE that despite the pair expecting a sibling for True, "Khloé and Tristan are not back together and have not spoken since December outside of co-parenting matters."

In a May 2022episode of theNot Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Kardashian told host Amanda Hirsch that she wanted Thompson to be happy.

"People do make mistakes, and, you know, he's still a good person," Kardashian said. "He's not a good partner with me."

"It's sad because there's so many good sides to him as well," she continued, "But no one gets to see those because they're all overshadowed by like the personal stuff that's going on between him and I."

On Aug. 5, a rep for Kardashianconfirmed the baby — a boy — had arrived.

September 29, 2022: Khloé Kardashian says she rejected Tristan Thompson's first marriage proposal

OnThe Kardashians, the reality star revealed thatThompson secretly proposed to her in December 2019. She rejected the proposal — and opted not to tell her family.

Kardashian recounted the moment between her and Thompson to her sister Kim.

"I said, 'I need to make sure this is a totally different relationship because I wanna be proud to say I'm engaged to anyone,' " she recalled. "And that's why I said, 'I'm not comfortable accepting this right now because I'm not excited to tell my family,' and as hurtful as that probably was for him to hear, it was the truth."

However, in February 2021, PEOPLE learned that Kardashian accepted Thompson's second marriage proposal.

The couple weresecretly engaged for nine months before Kardashian called it off in December 2021 when she learned of Thompson's baby with another woman.

October 6, 2022: Khloé Kardashian says she's forgiven Tristan Thompson

Kardashian isn't holding on to any anger or resentment toward Thompson. She explained why in an episode ofThe Kardashians.

"I think a lot of people maybe forget thatI've been through a lot of BS. My ex-husband [Lamar Odom], when we were married, definitely had a very public drug problem and was found in a brothel, and there was a lot of things that probably aren't forgivable, and I'm still able to forgive him and move on and want the best for him."

She added: "It only hurts me by holding onto all this stuff, so let it go. Let go and let God."

May 17, 2023: Khloé Kardashian denies rumors that she and Tristan Thompson are reconciling

The Good American co-foundershot down claims that she and Thompson are getting back together after fans noticed that her sister Kim and her daughter North cheered Thompson on during the NBA playoffs.

"Allegedly he's back with Koko so maybe she's soft launching the idea so everyone is prepared & doesn't give Koko a hard time," the fansite's Instagram post read.

"I suppose you guys will continue the narrative you want regardless of what I say so what's the point," Kardashian wrote in the comments. "It's exhausting but I learned people will only understand to the level of their own perception. Most are stuck at believing the lies because it's the narrative they want to fuel. Have fun…."

February 2024: Tristan Thompson granted legal guardianship over his younger brother

Thompsonlegally became the sole guardian of his younger brother, Amari, in February 2024, as granted by the Los Angeles County Superior Court, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE. His mother, Andrea Thompson,died in January 2023 of a heart attack while Amari was still a minor. Amari has epilepsy as well as other medical conditions, which led to Thompson's request for guardianship. 

The NBA star filed for full guardianship on Sept. 8, 2023, claiming their father, Trevor Thompson, had been absent from Amari’s life since 2014.

According to the initial filing, Amari was living with the NBA player in Hidden Hills, Calif. Prior to being in Hidden Hills,the brothers stayed with Kardashian after extreme weather damaged Thompson's home.

Kardashian and Thompsonhave been open in the past about Amari’s disabilities and how they cared for him since his mother’s death.

In an October 2023 episode ofThe Kardashians,Kardashian explained to viewers that Amari lives with a severe form of epilepsy called Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (LGS), which requires him to use a wheelchair and receive around-the-clock care from his family.

January 22, 2025: Khloé Kardashian mentions co-parenting with Tristan Thompson on her podcast

On the second episode of her podcast,Khloé in Wonder Land, which aired Jan. 22, 2025 on X, Kardashian was byJay Shetty for a candid conversation about love and she revealed she isn't "ashamed" of her romantic past. Kardashian began by referencing her former relationship with ex Thompson, saying that they "aren't together anymore, butwe co-parent really, really well.”

She went on to talk at length about the trauma of her past relationships, now seeing these experiences in love as "my journey" that she was "supposed to go on.”

"Like, I do believe in happily ever after,” she said. “I am one of those hopeless romantics, and I love the fairy tale and the fantasy, regardless of what's ever happened to me, I'm always going to be that girl."
