PDB-IHM

System for Archiving Integrative Structures

Welcome to PDB-IHM

PDB-IHM is a system for archiving structural models obtained using integrative or hybrid modeling, managed by the wwPDB and funded by the NSF, DOE, and NIH. Structural characterization of many complex macromolecular assemblies is increasingly carried out using integrative modeling, where a combination of complementary experimental and computational techniques is used to determine the structure. The structural models obtained through integrative modeling are collected, processed, and disseminated to the public through PDB-IHM. PDB-IHM was recently unified with the PDB archive, serving integrative structures alongside experimental structures. Integrative structures are now provided PDB accession codes and can be accessed from thePDB archive andwwPDB.

New Standalone Validation System and V3.0 Reports

Version 3.0 (v3.0) of the IHM Validation software has been released. The updated validation software has been implemented into thePDB-IHM deposition and data harvesting system to support the validation of new depositions. The v3.0 validation reports have been regenerated and made publicly available for all released entries via thePDB-IHM branch of the PDB archive and on this website. The IHM validation software is also available as astandalone validation server to support validation of structures pre-deposition and viaGitHub.Read more...

PDB-IHM Publication

Recent updates to PDB-IHM, including the unification with thePDB archive, have been published in the Journal of Molecular Biology: Vallat B et al., PDB-IHM: A System for Deposition, Curation, Validation, and Dissemination of Integrative Structures, J Mol Biol. 2025; 168963. doi:10.1016/j.jmb.2025.168963.Read more...

IHM Validation Software Version 2 Supports Crosslinking-MS data

Version 2 (V2) of the IHM Validation software has been released. The updated validation software has been implemented into the PDB-IHMdeposition and data harvesting system and V2 validation reports have been regenerated and made publicly available for all released entries. The updated version extends IHM validation to include structures obtained from Chemical Crosslinking Mass Spectrometry (Crosslinking-MS) data, in addition to previously supported Small Angle Scattering (SAS) data. Collaborating with the Crosslinking-MS community, mechanisms for interoperating with thePRIDE repository have been developed to enable validation of structures based on Crosslinking-MS.Read more...

PDB-Dev rebranded as PDB-IHM

In August 2024, PDB-Dev was unified with the PDB to deliver integrative structures alongside archived experimental structures in the PDB archive. Following the unification, PDB-Dev has now been rebranded as PDB-IHM.Read more...
