Abstract

A system, networks and methods for provisioning optical circuits in a multi-network, multi-vendor environment. The network includes at least one sub- network, multiple nodes, intelligent provisioning nodes, an intelligent node controller (INC) , a central optical cross -connect database (COCCD) , a signaling control plane and customers, wherein a request for a circuit is sent from at least one customer to at least one intelligent provisioning node,- a check is performed to determine whether direct connection with an egress node is available; and the direct connection with the egress node is reserved if the connection is available and the connection for the at least one customer is provisioned.
