Abstract

A method and device for separating (Fig.1) comprising a fluid flow channel with acoustic transducers (104, 106) providing an acoustic field with at least two steady-state regions having distinct acoustic field patterns with corresponding particle distributions (112, 114, 116), wherein particles are separated in a transition region (118) of the acoustic field.
