Be it known that l, WILLIAM H. WIIITLOCK, of Rising Sun, Ohio county, Indiana, have invented a new and useful Turning-Tool; and herebj,7 declare the Ibllowing to be a full', clear, and exact description thereof, reference .being had vto the accompanying drawings, making part of this specific-ation.
My invention relates to a tool for more eoIIvenient-lg7 and efieotually tm'ning on' blind-rollers, ehairfstretohers, and other like obj ects of oylindricalfcrm, 'my said tool being designed for use withan ordinary/'turninglathe.

The stoel( or body of' my turning-tool consists of a cylindrical block, A, traversed throughout its length by an axial-perforation, 'a of, of slightly greater diameter than the stick orrcller to be turned, and somewhat Haring, a', at one end.

The bit B is formed fiat, except at its advancing edge 1), Where it is curved slightlyY outivard, so as to lead on to the stuff Without'slivering. Proieeting from one side ofthe body A' is ahandle, D.
The operation is as follows:
The tool being slipped over ,the tail-spindle E ofthe lathe, the rough stick is secured in the lathe in the customary manner, and being rotated, thetool is pressed forward along the stick, as shown in iig. 4, until the Work is complete.
