CLOTH ES-LINE PU LLEY.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 432,334, dated July 15, 1890.
Application filed July 3| 1889. Serial No. 316,394. (No model.)
To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FELIX PETER SKoE- NIOKI, of Jersey City, in the county of Hudson and State of New Jersey, a citizen of the United States, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Clothes-Line Pulleys, of which the folowing is a specifica-A tion.
This invention relates to an improved clothes-line supporter by which the clothes may be hung on both lengths of the line instead of along one length ot' the same only.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure l represents a side elevation of my improved clothes-line supporter. Fig. 2 is a horizontal section of the same, drawn on a larger scale, on line x, Fig. l; and Fig. 3 is a sidev elevation, partly in vertical section of one pulley, drawn on a still larger scale. v
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
Referring to the drawings, A represents a clothes-line, which is stretched tightly around 4two pulleys B B, which turn on spindles C C,
that are supported by curved bracket-arms D. The bracket-arms D are respectively applied to the windowcasing by any suitable mechanism, preferably by means of supporting hooks and links, as shown inA the drawings, so that a certain yielding support is obtained, and to a supporting-post.
The pulley B consists of an elongated body provided with a shallow circumferential groove @for the clothes-line, and with a hand- Wheel disk E below said groove, which serves as a driving-wheel and as a guide for the clothes, said body being rounded at c above said groove and tapered at d above the rounded part. The enlarged disk at the lower end of the pulley-body serves the double purpose of a hand-wheel and a guide for the clothes, and owing to the elongated body and shallow groove the clothes-pins which clamp the clothes on the line readily pass around the pulley with the line and clothes.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patentl A clothes-line pulley consisting of an elongated body provided with a shallow circumferential ,groove for the clothes-line and with a hand-wheel disk below said groove, which serves as a driving-Wheel and as a guide for the clothes, said body being rounded and tapered above the groove, substantially as described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my invent-ion I have signed my name in presence of two subscribing witnesses.
FELIX PETER SKORNICKI.
