CIGARETTE MATCH PACKAGE BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Normally cigarettes are sold commercially in prepackaged quantities and matches or lighters are obrained separately. This frequently causes the smoker to misplace or use up the matches while still having cigarettes.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION These and other problems and disadvantages associated withthe prior art are overcome by the invention disclosed herein by providing a combination cigarette pack and match holder, both of which are prepackaged. This insures that the smoker will always have matches when he has cigarettes since the match supply is refurbished each time cigarettes are purchased.
 The invention includes generally a cigarette package which has an extension on the bottom thereof which defines a match receiving tray therein. The cigarettes are housed in the main portion of the package while the matches are carried in the tray. A convenient striking surface is provided in the proximity of the match tray for striking the matches.
 These and other features and advantages of the invention disclosed herein will become more apparent upon consideration of the following specification and accompanying drawings wherein like characters of reference designate corresponding parts throughout the several views and in which:
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing the invention;
 FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view taken alongline 22 in FIG. 1;
 FIG. 3 is an unfolded exploded perspective view of the invention of FIG. 1 showing the construction thereof; and,
 FIG. 4 is a cross-sectional view of a second embodiment of the invention.
 These figures and the following detailed description of the invention disclose specific embodiments thereof, however, it is to be understood that the inventive concept is not limited thereto since it may be embodied in other forms.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF ILLUSTRATIVE EMBODIMENTS Referring to the figures, two embodiments of the invention are shown, that designated in FIGS. 1-3 and that designated 110 in FIG. 4. Thepackage 10 is of the type referred to in the industry as the crushproof package whilepackage 110 is of the type referred to in the industry as the soft package.
 Referring specifically to FIGS. 1-3, thepackage 10 includes a base sheet 11 which forms the supporting structure of the package, a match tray 12, and aninsert 14. The base sheet 11 has formed therein aback 15, afront 16, abottom 18 and alid 19. Thefront 16 integral with on side of thebottom 18 through anextension 20 and the back is integral with the other side of thebottom 18 through anextension 21 similar toextension 20. Both extensions and 21 have a height h, and theback 15 has a height h substantially equal to the length of the cigarettes to be housed therein. Thefront 16 has a height h so that when thepackage 10 is formed, the
height offront 16 plus the height of the front of thelid 19 is substantially equal to height 112- Thelid 19 is integral with the upper edge of theback 15 and hinged thereat. Thelid 19 is formed conventionally with afront flap 22, ashorter back flap 24, and taperingside flaps 25.
Inner sides 26 are formed along opposite side edges ofback 15 and integral therewith. Thesides 26 fold forwardly ofback 15 and are tapered at their top edges to conform with the side flaps oflid 19.Intermediate flaps 28 are integral with the bottom ofsides 26 and are folded inwardly into an overlapping relationship underlid 19 when thesides 26 are folded forwardly. Theflaps 28 form the bottom of thecigarette receiving chamber 29 aspackage 10 is formed.
Outer sides 30 are formed along opposite sides edges offront 16 and integral therewith. The outer sides- 30 fold rearwardly to overlap theinner sides 26 and are tapered at their top edges to conform with the side flaps oflid 19.
 The basic package is formed by folding the sheet 11 so that thefront 16 andback 15 as well asextensions 20 and 21 are in a spaced apart parallel position. The overlappedintermediate flaps 28 are glued and the overlapped inner andouter sides 26 and 30 are also glued. This forms thecigarette receiving chamber 29 aboveintermediate flaps 28 and the matchtray receiving chamber 31 betweenintermediate flaps 28,bottom 18, andextensions 20 and 21. Thechamber 31 has anopening 32 at opposite ends as will become more apparent.
 The match tray 12 is slidably received inchamber 31 throughopenings 32. The tray 12 includes abottom wall 40, a pair ofside walls 41 and a pair ofend walls 42 which define an open top match receiving cavity 44 therein. Afinger cutout 45 is provided in one of theside walls 41 to facilitate the removal of matches therefrom. The tray has a substantially square cross-section so that the opening 46 to cavity 44 can be turned to suit the user. In use, the user uses his finger to partially push the tray 12 fromchamber 31 so that the matches are accessible. He then removes a match and strikes it on thestriker surface 48 provided. Thesurface 48 is illustrated on thebottom 18 ofpackage 10, however, it is to be understood that thesurface 48 may be located at any convenient location on thepackage 10.
 Theinsert 14 serves to better define the cigarette access opening to thecigarette receiving chamber 29 when thelid 19 is raised as shown in FIG. I. Anappropriate recess 49 is provided ininsert 14 to facilitate the removal of cigarettes fromchamber 29. Theinsert 14 is glued to thefront 16.
 It will be noted that if the cigarettes to be carried inchamber 29 are of the size referred to in the industry as King Size, theextensions 20 and 21 as well as tray 12 can be sized to make theresulting package 10 of the size generally referred to in the industry as the millimeter length. This allowspackage 10 to be dispensed from a standard vending machine.
 Referring to FIG. 4, the package includes the liner foil 111 which carries the cigarettes and acover paper 112 which extends around the liner foil 111. Apaperboard support tube 114 is positioned under the liner foil and is held in position by the cover paper 1 12 which extends therearound and is glued thereto. Thetube 114 defines a tray receiving chamber 115 therein which is open at both ends.
 A match tray 1 16 is slidably received in chamber 1 15 with a construction the same as tray 12. Thepackage 110 is used similarly to package and a striking surface ll8 is provided on the bottom thereof.
 While specific embodiments of the invention have been disclosed herein, it is to be understood that full use of modifications, substitutions, and equivalents may be made without departing from the scope of the invention.
