United States Patent This invention relates to improvements in a dispenser container for a box of cleansing tissues and more particularly to a container that may be mounted by means of a novel mounting assembly in a vertical or horizontal plane and which is provided with a readily accessible opening through which tissues may be withdrawn.

The present structure is concerned with a rectangular shaped container that is open on one end and is tapered lengthwise so as to snugly embrace a box of tissues arranged therein. A cover is arranged over the open end which cover may be disposed in a plurality of positions so as to render indicia thereon readily visible irrespective of the positioning of the container.

It is therefore an object of the invention to provide a novelly constructed container of the character referred to.

Another object is to provide a container of the character referred to with novel means to embrace a package of tissues arranged therein snugly.

Another object is to provide a novelly shaped closure for the open end of a container for a box of tissues.

The structure by means of which the above noted and other objects and advantages of the invention are attained will be described in the following specification, taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, showing a preferred illustrative embodiment of the invention, in whch:

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the container.

FIG. 2 is a longitudinal enlarged sectional view of the container, showing it mounted in a horizontal plane.

FIG. 3 is a vertical sectional view taken on line 3-3 of FIG. 2.

FIG. 4 is an elevational view of the bottom side of the container, showing parts broken away.

Referring to the exemplary embodiment of the invention shown in the accompanying drawings, the container, which is fabricated from plastic material, is substantially rectangular in shape, and it includes atop wall 11, abottom wall 12, anend wall 13 and connectingside walls 14. It is open at its other end and is adapted to receive telescoped over said open end, acover 15. Preferably the free margins, of the top, bottom and side walls surrounding the open end are externally shouldered, as at 15a, to receive and limit telescoping of the cover thereover.

The container is adapted to receive therein abox 16 of tissues which may be withdrawn selectively through an opening 17 in thebottom wall 12. In order to retain thebox 16 snugly, the side, top and bottom walls of the container are inclined inwardly toward theend wall 13 and at least one pair ofribs 18 are formed on the inside surface of the bottom wall, one on each side of opening 17 therein and closely adjacent to the open container end.

Amounting bracket 19 is secured, as byrivets 21, to

the outside surface oftop wall 11, closely adjacent to the open container end. This bracket includesoffset edge flanges 22 that are slid-able in asupport bracket 23 that is secured, as byscrews 24, to ahorizontal support surface 25.

It should be apparent that thesupport bracket 23 can be secured to a vertical surface in which event the container will be disposed vertically and will be supported against sliding downwardly out of the support bracket by astop flange 26 on the latter.

Thecover 15 has its end wall 27 inclined out of the plane normal to its side walls and said end wall preferably carries anindicia bearing plate 28. When the box is disposed horizontally, as shown, the inclined end wall 27 is disposed outwardly downwardly as shown. When arranged vertically the cover is reversed so that the inclined wall is disposed forwardly downwardly so that the indicia thereon can be readily observed.

Although I have described a preferred embodiment of my invention, in considerable detail, it will be understood that the description thereof is intended to be illustrative, rather than restrictive, as many details of the structure may be modified or changed without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention. Accordingly, I do not desire to be restricted to the exact construction described.

I claim:

1. A container for a box of tissues comprising, in combination, a substantially rectangular box-like structure open at one end and including spaced top and bottom walls and a wall closing its other end, said top and bottom walls converging toward each other in the direction of the closed end, at least one rib on the inside surface of at least one of said converging walls, a cover for the open end, a mounting bracket secured to the top wall, and a tissue dispensing opening in the bottom wall.

2. The container recited in claim 1, in which the cover is telescoped over the open end of said container.

3. The container recited in claim 1, in which the cover has side walls and an end wall inclined from a plane normal to its side walls.

4. The container recited in claim 1, in which the cover has side wall sand an end wall inclined from a plane normal to its side walls, and an indicia bearing plate secured over the outside surface of the end wall.

5. The container recited in claim 1, in which the mounting bracket includes parallel edge flanges adapted to be engaged in a support bracket.

Claims (1)

1. A CONTAINER FOR A BOX OF TISSUES COMPRISING, IN COMBINATION, A SUBSTANTIALLY RECTANGULAR BOX-LIKE STRUCTURE OPEN AT ONE END AND INCLUDING SPACED TOP AND BOTTOM WALLS AND WALL CLOSING ITS OTHER END, SAID TOP AND BOTTOM WALLS CONVERGING TOWARD EACH OTHER IN THE DIRECTION OF THE CLOSED END, AT LEAST ONE RIB ON THE INSIDE SURFACE OF AT LEAST ONE OF SAID CONVERGING WALLS, A COVER FOR THE OPEN END, A MOUNTING BRACKET SECURED TO THE TOP WALL, AND A TISSUE DISPENSING OPENING IN THE BOTTOM WALL.
