Abstract

A spray dispensing device including a first chamber defined by a container, a bladder contained within the first chamber that houses a fluid composition (e.g., a bleach composition), and an actuator in fluid communication with the first chamber so as to allow dispensing of the fluid composition from the bladder when the actuator is actuated (e.g., pressed). A pressurized composition may be contained within a second chamber, which acts as a pressure control device. The pressure of the pressurized composition may be in a range of from about 70 psi to about 150 psi. An outlet valve may provide selective fluid communication between the pressure control device (i.e., the second chamber) and the first chamber.

Description

Claims (22)

1. A spray dispensing device, comprising:
(a) a container having a side wall, the container comprising:
(i) a first chamber defined by the side wall; and
(ii) a second chamber fluidly coupled to the first chamber, the second chamber being inside of the container and not attached to an interior of the spray dispensing device;
(b) a flexible bladder contained within the first chamber and configured to hold a fluid composition, wherein the flexible bladder is formed of a material compatible with the fluid composition;
(c) an actuator, formed of a material that is compatible with the fluid composition, in fluid communication with the flexible bladder and configured to dispense the fluid composition from the flexible bladder upon actuation of the actuator; and
(d) an outlet valve coupled to the second chamber so that the second chamber is fully functional prior to being placed into the dispensing device;
wherein the fluid composition does not directly contact an interior surface of the container;
wherein the first chamber is configured to have a first pressure and the second chamber is configured to have a second pressure, the second pressure being greater than the first pressure; and
wherein upon actuation of the actuator, the container is configured to dispense the fluid composition from the flexible bladder while the second chamber fluidly communicates with the first chamber through the outlet valve.
15. A spray dispensing device, comprising:
(a) a container having a non-linear side wall that has a curved exterior surface spanning along at least a portion of the longitudinal axis of the container, wherein a transverse cross-section of the container varies along the longitudinal axis of the container, the container comprising:
(i) a first chamber having a first pressure; and
(ii) a second chamber fluidly coupled to the first chamber and configured to hold a pressurized composition having a second pressure, the second chamber being provided separate from the dispensing device and coupled to the dispensing device prior to use; and
(b) a flexible bladder housed within the first chamber and configured to contain a fluid composition;
(c) an actuator in fluid communication with the flexible bladder and configured to dispense the fluid composition from the flexible bladder upon activation; and
(d) an outlet valve positioned between the first chamber and the second chamber;
wherein the second pressure is greater than the first pressure;
wherein the pressurized composition does not contact the fluid composition as the pressurized composition flows into the first chamber from the second chamber through the outlet valve;
wherein upon actuation of the actuator, the container is configured to dispense the fluid composition from the flexible bladder while the second chamber fluidly communicates with the first chamber through the outlet valve.
20. A spray dispensing device, comprising:
(a) a container having a side wall, the container comprising:
(i) a first chamber having a first pressure; and
(ii) a second chamber fluidly coupled to the first chamber and configured to hold a pressurized composition having a second pressure, the second chamber being inside of the container and not attached to an interior of the spray dispensing device; and
(b) a flexible bladder housed within the first chamber and configured to contain a fluid composition, the fluid composition including an organic acid;
(c) an actuator in fluid communication with the flexible bladder and configured to dispense the fluid composition from the flexible bladder upon activation; and
(d) an outlet valve positioned between the first chamber and the second chamber;
wherein the second pressure is greater than the first pressure;
wherein the pressurized composition does not contact the fluid composition as the pressurized composition flows into the first chamber from the second chamber through the outlet valve; and
wherein upon actuation of the actuator, the container is configured to dispense the fluid composition from the flexible bladder while the second chamber fluidly communicates with the first chamber through the outlet valve.
