Abstract

A system for movement-based device control is presented. The system may include a target device and a control device. The control device may be configured to determine an indication of the target device. The control device may also be configured to detect at least one movement associated with the control device. The movement(s) may correspond to at least one control command associated with the target device. The control device may additionally be configured to generate a control signal indicative of the control command(s) associated with the target device based on the movement(s) associated with the control device. The control device may also be configured to transmit the control signal indicative of the control command(s) associated with the target device to the target device based on the indication of the target device so that the target device is controlled according to the control command(s).

providing, by the processor, the control signal to the target device, the control signal causing the target device to perform an action in accordance with the control command.
2. The method ofclaim 1, further comprising:
establishing, by the processor, a wireless communication link between the processor and the target device; and
receiving, by the processor, from the target device, and via the wireless communication link, device identification information including one or more of: a unique device number, a location of the target device, a type of the target device, or data communication capabilities of the target device,
wherein the control signal is configured based at least in part on the device identification information.
3. The method ofclaim 1, wherein the processor is associated with a control device configured to be worn by the user, and the control device comprises one of: a watch, a necklace, smart glasses, or clothing with a built-in sensor.
4. The method ofclaim 3, wherein the control signal is configured based at least in part on an orientation of the control device.
5. The method ofclaim 1, wherein the target device comprises one of: a smart home device, a home security device, a home entertainment device, or a remotely-operable vehicle.
6. The method ofclaim 1, wherein the sensor comprises a camera configured to capture:
a gesture of the user, the gesture indicative of the movement, and
a facial image of the user, the facial image indicative of the first authentication information.
7. The method ofclaim 1, wherein the action comprises one of: a change in an operational state of the target device, a motion of the target device, or a change in a setting associated with the target device.
8. The method ofclaim 1, further comprising:
sending, by the processor and to a computing device associated with an insurance provider, data indicative of the control signal; and
receiving, by the processor, from the computing device, and based on the data indicative of the control signal, an indication of at least one of: an insurance discount, an insurance reward, an insurance incentive, or an insurance premium adjustment.
9. The method ofclaim 1, wherein the first authentication information comprises biometric information unique to the user and captured by the sensor.
10. The method ofclaim 1, wherein the sensor is a first sensor, and the first authentication information is captured by a second sensor operably connected to the processor.
11. A system, comprising:
one or more target devices; and
a control device including a sensor, the control device being configured to:
identify, based at least in part on first sensor data received from the sensor, a first motion of the control device, the first motion being associated with a target device of the one or more target devices;
establish, based on device identification information unique to the target device, a wireless communication link with the target device;
identify, based at least in part on second sensor data received from the sensor, a second motion of the control device, the second motion corresponding to a control command directed to the target device;
generate, based on the second motion and the device identification information, a control signal indicative of the control command; and
transmit, via the wireless communication link, the control signal to the target device, wherein the control signal, when executed by the target device, causes the target device to perform an action.
12. The system ofclaim 11, wherein the one or more target devices comprise at least one of: a home appliance, a home security device, a home entertainment device, or a vehicle.
13. The system ofclaim 11, wherein the device identification information includes one or more of: a device number, a location of the respective target device, a type of the respective target device, or data communication capabilities of the respective target device.
14. The system ofclaim 11, wherein the device identification information includes a type of the target device, and a format of the control signal is unique to the type of the target device.
15. The system ofclaim 11, wherein the control device is further configured to:
provide, to a user interface of the control device, at least a portion of the device identification information,
wherein providing the at least the portion of the device identification information to the user interface causes the user interface to display the at least the portion of the device identification information.
16. The system ofclaim 11, wherein the sensor is a first sensor, and the control device is further configured to:
determine, using a second sensor associated with the control device, first biometric information unique to a user; and
determine, that the first biometric information matches second biometric information of an authorized user of the control device,
