The present invention relates to a jewelry organizer and cosmetics organizer with unique features for storing a plurality of types of articles. In particular, the preferred embodiments of the invention relate to organizers that allow a user to store a large quantity of jewelry and cosmetics articles on a room door and easily view and select from those jewelry articles.
Conventionally, there are a number of ways to store and protect jewelry and other valuables. Some, such as jewelry boxes, or racks kept on dresser tops, or other readily accessible locations, are very convenient but are easily noticed and are often the first targets of thieves. Others, such as conventional safes, lockboxes, etc. are more secure, but attract undue attention, and are less convenient when retrieval of the jewelry or other items is desired. There are also small items for holding valuables, which appear to have other functions, so that thieves may tend to overlook them while searching for valuables. These include, for instance, hollowed out books or other items that appear to be common objects like soda cans, electric wall outlets, or product dispensers, but may actually be used to hold valuable items. However, these generally are not ideal for various reasons, including insufficient convenience, inconvenient security, and inability to hold enough valuables. Another problem with many of these items is that they appear to have little commercial value in themselves, so that they may be easily and perhaps accidentally discarded by housekeepers, spouses, children, or even absentmindedly by their owners.
Along with requiring adequate storage space, many users desire an accessory storage means that provides easy access to certain items, whereby retrieval of desired items to match an outfit or to find a specific piece is facilitated. Many existing storage cabinets or jewelry boxes contain different types of organizers and hooks for different types of items; however few provide a means to coordinate jewelry according to their style and their type. Storing jewelry and other accessory items in an orderly fashion means that the user will not have to scavenge or search for specific style items while dressing, or struggle to locate a specifically desired item.
U.S. Pat. No. 5,261,529 to Holland, which discloses an earring storage device that comprises a plurality of vertical panels that are suspended from retaining rods, whereby the panels comprises a mesh material suitable for supporting retaining the hooks of earrings thereon or for attaching strap earring supports. The hooks of earrings are positioned through the panel mesh, while the optional straps can be used to secure other jewelry items. The panels themselves are suspended from support rods, which can be hingedly supported from a support surface, or alternatively supported across the opening of a four-sided cabinet. The Holland device, while providing a novel means of supporting earrings and other jewelry items, provides a series of panels rather than a complete furniture or cabinet item.
Overall, the present invention provides an improved means of organization for accessory items and a means of efficient retrieval thereof. None of the previous inventions and patents, taken either singly or in combination, is seen to describe the instant invention as claimed. Hence, the inventor of the present invention proposes to resolve and surmount existent technical difficulties to eliminate the aforementioned shortcomings of the prior art.
In light of the disadvantages of the prior art, the following summary is provided to facilitate an understanding of some of the innovative features unique to the present invention and is not intended to be a full description. A full appreciation of the various aspects of the invention can be gained by taking the entire specification, claims, drawings, and abstract as a whole.
The primary desirable object of the present invention is to provide a novel and improved compactable jewelry and cosmetic organizer that hangs behind a room door with hooks on top.
It is another objective of the invention to provide a ring tray holder on the top a mirror below which it has necklaces holders and has cosmetics storage pockets.
In some embodiments, the invention includes: hooks capable of securing the door when closed so that the hook section cannot be easily removed.
In some embodiments, the means for storing includes at least one of: pockets, pouches, trays, mirror and loops for storing jewelry and other valuables.
It is another objective of the invention to provide a housing which may be utilized to support jewelry of all types.
All devices to the system have the ability to close quickly to keep the jewelry safely stored and discretely hidden and also open quickly for easy access to the jewelry.
The jewelry storage organizer device can be hung on a door and/or rolled into a cylindrical configuration so that the jewelry remains condensed and stored out of view.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a housing which is simple, economical to manufacture, sturdy in construction, compact in size, convenient to use and totally effective for storing therewithin a large quantity of a wide variety of jewelry or cosmetics items of diverse sizes, shapes and fastening constructions.
