Abstract

A glucose sensor including: a transmitter configured to transmit electromagnetic waves between 1 GHz and 300 GHz; a receiver configured to receive the electromagnetic waves from the transmitter, wherein the transmitter and receiver are positioned in relation to a subject to be scanned such that the receiver receives reflected electromagnetic waves; and a control station for processing the received reflected electromagnetic waves and determining a glucose reading. A method for sensing glucose including: transmitting electromagnetic waves between 1 GHz and 300 GHz to a subject to be scanned; receiving reflected electromagnetic waves from the subject; analyzing the electromagnetic waves and reflected electromagnetic waves to determine a glucose level for the subject.

Description

Claims (18)

What is claimed is:
1. A glucose sensor comprising:
a transmitter configured to transmit electromagnetic waves between 1 GHz and 300 GHz;
a receiver configured to receive the electromagnetic waves from the transmitter, wherein the transmitter and receiver are positioned in relation to a subject to be scanned such that the receiver receives reflected electromagnetic waves; and
a control station for processing the received reflected electromagnetic waves and determining a glucose reading.
2. A sensor according toclaim 1, wherein the electromagnetic waves are between 30 GHz and 90 Ghz.
3. A sensor according toclaim 2, wherein the electromagnetic waves are between 50 GHz and 70 Ghz.
4. A sensor according toclaim 3, wherein the electromagnetic waves are between 57 GHz and 64 GHz.
5. A sensor according toclaim 1, further comprising a second biometric sensor, wherein the second biometric sensor is selected from a group consisting of an optical sensor, an infrared sensor, a laser sensor, a camera sensor or an ultrasonic sensor.
6. A sensor according toclaim 1, wherein the receiver comprises a plurality of receivers.
7. A sensor according toclaim 1, wherein the transmitter comprises a plurality of transmitters.
8. A sensor according toclaim 1 wherein the sensor is configured to operate at −10 dBm (0.1 mW) RF output power and use antennas with 6 dBi of gain.
9. A system according toclaim 1, wherein the control station is configured to analyze the signal using machine learning.
10. A method for sensing glucose level comprising:
transmitting electromagnetic waves between 1 GHz and 300 GHz to a subject to be scanned;
receiving reflected electromagnetic waves from the subject;
analyzing the electromagnetic waves and reflected electromagnetic waves to determine a glucose level for the subject.
11. A method according toclaim 10, wherein analyzing the electromagnetic waves and reflected electromagnetic waves comprises combining the waves to produce an analog signal result.
12. A method according toclaim 11, further comprising converting the analog signal to a digital signal to be further analyzed at a control station.
13. A method according toclaim 10, wherein the analyzing uses machine learning.
14. A method according toclaim 10, wherein the analyzing uses decision trees.
15. A method according toclaim 10, further comprising measuring the glucose level via a second biometric sensor for a two-level check.
16. A method according toclaim 10 wherein the electromagnetic waves are between 30 GHz and 90 GHz.
17. A method according toclaim 16, wherein the electromagnetic waves are between 50 GHz and 70 Ghz.
18. A method according toclaim 17, wherein the electromagnetic waves are between 57 GHz and 64 GHz.
