Abstract

Systems and methods for scheduling tasks to field professionals are provided. In one implementation, a system may receive a first request for an on-site service and schedule a task associated with the first request to be performed on a first scheduled date. After scheduling the task associated with the first request, the system may receive a second request from a connected device for an on-site service. The system may determine a time period that corresponds with an urgency level of the on-site service for the connected device, and schedule a task associated with the second request on a second scheduled date based on the urgency level. The first scheduled date and the second scheduled date may be the same date or different dates. Thereafter, the system may receive confirmation that the task associated with the first request and the task associated with the second request have been completed.

Description

Claims (20)

What is claimed is:
1. A system for scheduling tasks to field professionals, the system comprising:
a network interface; and
at least one processor connectable to the network interface, the at least one processor is configured to:
receive a first request for an on-site service, wherein the first request includes information identifying a location associated with a customer;
schedule a task associated with the first request to be performed by a field professional on a first scheduled date;
after scheduling the task associated with the first request, receive a second request from a connected device for an on-site service, wherein the second request has an associated urgency level determined from information received from the connected device;
determine a time period that corresponds with the associated urgency level of the on-site service for the connected device;
schedule a task associated with the second request to be performed by the field professional or another field profession on a second scheduled date based on the associated urgency level, wherein the first scheduled date and the second scheduled date may be the same date or different dates; and
receive confirmation that the task associated with the first request and the task associated with the second request have been completed.
2. The system ofclaim 1, wherein the at least one processor is configured to:
determine a time period that corresponds with the associated urgency level of the on-site service for the connected device; and
confirm that the second scheduled date is within the determined time period.
3. The system ofclaim 1, wherein the first request for the on-site service is from another connected device.
4. The system ofclaim 1, wherein the first request for the on-site service is from a human customer.
5. The system ofclaim 4, wherein the at least one processor is further configured to determine the first scheduled date based on an availability of the human customer.
6. The system ofclaim 4, wherein the at least one processor is further configured to assign a same field professional to provide on-site services associated with the first and second requests.
7. The system ofclaim 2, wherein the at least one processor is configured to determine the time period based on the urgency level and based on a type of the connected device.
8. The system ofclaim 1, wherein the at least one processor is configured to determine accessibility of the connected device and to schedule the task associated with the second request based on the accessibility of the connected device.
9. The system ofclaim 2, wherein the at least one processor is configured to schedule the task associated with the second request at the second scheduled date being before the first scheduled date when the time period that corresponds with the associated urgency level ends before the first scheduled date.
10. The system ofclaim 2, wherein the at least one processor is configured to schedule the task associated with the second request at the second scheduled date being after the first scheduled date when the time period that corresponds with the associated urgency level ends after the first scheduled date.
11. The system ofclaim 1, wherein the at least one processor is configured to schedule the task associated with the second request at the first scheduled date instead of the task associated with the first request.
12. The system ofclaim 2, wherein the at least one processor is further configured to receive updates associated with the urgency level from the connected device, and to change the time period based on the received updates.
13. A system for scheduling tasks to field professionals, the system comprising:
a network interface; and
at least one processor connectable to the network interface, the at least one processor is configured to:
receive a first request for an on-site service, wherein the first request includes information identifying a location associated with a customer;
schedule a task associated with the first request to be performed by a field professional on a first scheduled date;
receive a second request from a connected device for an on-site service at a second location in proximity to the first location, wherein the on-site service for the connected device is has an associated urgency level;
determine a time period that corresponds with the associated urgency level of the on-site service for the connected device;
determine, based on the time period, that the on-site service for the connected device can be scheduled at the certain date; and
assign a single field professional to provide the on-site services in the first location and in the second location at the certain date.
14. The system ofclaim 13, wherein the at least one processor is further configured to determine that the second location is in proximity to the first location when an estimated driving duration between the second location and the first location is less than 60 minutes.
15. The system ofclaim 14, wherein the at least one processor is configured to determine that the on-site service for the connected device can be scheduled at the certain date by comparing the estimated driving duration to a threshold associated with the urgency level.
16. A method for scheduling tasks to field professionals, the method comprising:
receiving a first request for an on-site service, wherein the first request includes information identifying a location associated with a customer;
scheduling a task associated with the first request to be performed by a field professional on a first scheduled date;
after scheduling the task associated with the first request, receiving a second request from a connected device for an on-site service, wherein the second request has an associated urgency level determined from information received from the connected device;
scheduling a task associated with the second request to be performed by the field professional or another field profession on a second scheduled date based on the urgency level, wherein the first scheduled date and the second scheduled date may be the same date or different dates; and
receiving confirmation that the task associated with the first request and the task associated with the second request have been completed.
17. The method ofclaim 16, wherein the second request is associated with a repair service for the connected device.
18. The method ofclaim 16, wherein the second request associated with a repair service for a device monitored by the connected device.
19. The method ofclaim 16, further comprising:
determining the urgency level from the information received from the connected device.
20. The method ofclaim 16, further comprising:
determining the urgency level from the information received from the connected device and historical data associated with the connected device.
