Abstract

Systems and methods for synchronization of session content are provided. Session video of a plurality of game sessions may be captured at a content synchronization server. Each captured session video of each game session may be associated with an identifier of the respective game session. Additional content may be sent over a communication network to the content synchronization server. Such additional content may be external to the game session and identified as being associated with a game session identifier. One of the captured session videos may be identified as being associated with a game session identifier that matches the game session identifier associated with the received external content. The received external content may be synchronized to the identified session video based on the matching game session identifiers. A composite video may be generated that includes the received external content synchronized to the identified session video.

Description

Claims (19)

What is claimed is:
1. A method for synchronization of content, the method comprising:
storing information in memory of a content server, the stored information regarding a plurality of different content files, each content file associated with a respective unique identifier;
receiving an external content file sent over a communication network to the content server, wherein the external content file is captured by a user device and associated with an identifier; and
executing instructions stored in memory, wherein execution of the instructions by a processor:
identifies one of the content files as having the same identifier associated with the external content file,
synchronizes the external content file to the identified content file based on the matching identifier, and
generates a composite content file that includes the external content file synchronized to the identified content file.
2. The method ofclaim 1, further comprising at least one other external content file associated with the identifier, the at least one other external content file sent from a different user device.
3. The method ofclaim 2, wherein the external content file includes a different type of content than the at least one other external content file.
4. The method ofclaim 2, wherein execution of the instructions by the processor further synchronizes the at least one other external content file to the identified content file based on the matching identifier, wherein the composite content file further includes the at least one other external content file synchronized to the identified content file.
5. The method ofclaim 4, wherein a display of the composite content file switches between the synchronized external content file and the at least one other synchronized content file.
6. The method ofclaim 4, wherein a display of the composite content file includes both the synchronized external content file and the at least one other synchronized file.
7. The method ofclaim 1, wherein a display of the composite content file includes the synchronized external content file overlaid on the identified content file.
8. The method ofclaim 1, wherein a display of the composite content file includes a video of one of the identified content file and the synchronized external content file, wherein the video is synchronized to audio of the other one of the identified content file and the synchronized external content file.
9. The method ofclaim 1, further comprising:
receiving a request sent from the user device to the content server regarding the identifier; and
sending the identifier from the content server to the user device, wherein the user device associates the identifier with the external content.
10. The method ofclaim 9, further comprising presenting an offer regarding the plurality of different content files to the mobile device, wherein the received request is responsive to the presented offer.
11. The method ofclaim 1, wherein synchronizing the external content file to the identified content file is further based on at least one timestamp of the external content corresponding to at least one timestamp of the identified content file.
12. The method ofclaim 11, wherein the at least one timestamp of the identified content file corresponds to a point in time with play of the identified content file, and wherein the at least one timestamp corresponds to the same point in time.
13. The method ofclaim 1, wherein the identified content file is a live broadcast, and wherein the composite content file is generated on-the-fly.
14. The method ofclaim 1, further generating the composite content file is further based on user input.
15. The method ofclaim 1, further comprising receiving the information regarding the identified content file from one or more content providers.
16. The method ofclaim 15, further comprising generating the identifier that is unique to the identified content file, wherein the identified is generated by the content server.
17. The method ofclaim 1, further comprising storing the composite content file in memory, wherein the stored composite content file is made accessible to one or more user devices.
18. A system for synchronization of content, the system comprising:
memory of a content server that stores information in memory, the stored information regarding a plurality of different content files, each content file associated with a respective unique identifier;
a communication interface that communicates via a communication network, wherein the communication interface receives an external content file, wherein the received external content is captured by a user device and associated with an identifier; and
a processor that executes instructions stored in the memory, wherein execution of the instructions by the processor:
identifies one of the content files as having the same identifier associated with the received external content,
synchronizes the received external content file to the identified content file based on the matching identifier, and
generates a composite content file that includes the received external content file synchronized to the identified content file.
19. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium, having embodied thereon a program executable by a processor to perform a method for synchronization of content, the method comprising:
storing information in memory of a content server, the stored information regarding a plurality of different content files, each content file associated with a respective unique identifier;
receiving an external content file sent over a communication network to the content server, wherein the external content file is captured by a user device and associated with an identifier;
identifying one of the content files as having the same identifier associated with the external content file;
synchronizing the external content file to the identified content file based on the matching identifier; and
generating a composite content file that includes the external content file synchronized to the identified content file.
