CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONSThis is a non-provisional application of U.S. Provisional Application No. 62/211,506, filed on Aug. 28, 2015.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION(1) Field of Invention
The present invention relates to eyelash extensions and, more particularly, to a method for applying eyelash extensions via double application of eyelash strips.
(2) Description of Related Art
Beauty products have long been known in the art. Users, women in particular, have sought a variety of beauty products to enhance their aesthetic appearance. For example, blush is often used to add color to a woman's cheeks. As another example, lipstick is traditionally used to add a variety of colors and features to a user's lips. To enhance the appearance of a user's eyelashes, some eyelash technicians apply individual eyelash extensions to a user's natural lashes. While individual eyelash extensions provide a very real appearance, the procedure is costly. Thus, in an attempt to reduce application time and costs, some technicians apply eyelash strips to the top of a user's natural eyelashes. A problem with such a technique is that the eyelash strips may fall off and do not typically add an appearance of tidiness to the existing lashes.
Therefore, there is a continuing need for a method for applying eyelash strips that increase retention and add fullness to existing lashes.
SUMMARY OF INVENTIONDescribed is a method for applying eyelash extensions via double application of eyelash strips. For example, the method includes acts of adhering a first eyelash strip below or on top of a user's natural eyelashes and adhering a second eyelash strip on top of or below the user's natural eyelashes, such that at least one eyelash strip is on top of and another eyelash strip is below the user's natural eyelashes.
Finally, as can be appreciated by one in the art, the present invention also comprises a method for forming and using the invention described herein.

Instead, they are used to reflect relative locations and/or directions between various portions of an object.
(1) DescriptionThe present invention relates to eyelash extensions and, more particularly, to a method for applying eyelash extensions via double application of eyelash strips. For example, an eyelash strip typically includes an elongated strip base (such as a tape or glue strip) with a plurality of individual or branched lashes extending therefrom. An example of such atypical eyelash strip100 is illustrated inFIG. 1. The traditional process for applying such aneyelash strip100 is to glue, tape, or otherwise adhere thestrip base103 to the top of the users existing eyelashes102 (e.g., top eyelashes) or against the user'supper eyelid104, as shown betweenFIGS. 2 and 3.
The present invention improves upon the method of the prior art by providing a method in which at least two eyelash strips are applied to a single eye. For example and as shown inFIG. 4, afirst eyelash strip400 is adhered below the user'snatural lashes102 and asecond eyelash strip402 is adhered on top of the user'snatural lashes102. Thus, the method includes acts of (1) adhering (via glue, tape, etc.) afirst eyelash strip400 below or on top of the user's natural eyelashes102 (either to the eyelashes directly or to the user'seyelid104, or any combination thereon, and (2) adhering (via glue, tape, etc.) asecond eyelash strip402 on top of or below the user's natural eyelashes102 (either to the eyelashes directly or to the user'seyelid104, or any combination thereof), such that at least one eyelash strip (e.g., first eyelash strip400) is on top of and another eyelash strip (e.g., second eyelash strip402) is below the user'snatural eyelashes102.
In one aspect, although not limited thereto, aneyelash strip400 is first affixed below the user'snatural eyelashes102 by having the user open their eyes to expose a bottom side of the user'snatural lashes102. Thefirst eyelash strip400 is then affixed (using glue, adhesive tape, etc.) below the user's natural lashes102 (such as being stuck with an adhesive strip to the bottom side of the natural lashes102). The user then closes their eye, allowing the technician to then apply thesecond eyelash strip402 on top of the user'snatural lashes102.
It should also be noted that theeyelash strip400 and/or402 can be adhered directly to the top of the user'snatural lashes102 or against the user's eyelid104 (above the lashes) or any other desired location. Theeyelash strip400 and/or402 is adhered to thenatural lashes102 or user'seyelid104 using an adhesive, tape, or any other method. (e.g., such as using the adhesive tape on a common eyelash strip). Further, theeyelash strip400 and/or402 can be a complete eyelash strip or a strip of any size. Additionally, theeyelash strip400 and/or402 can have a single lash, a bundle or lashes, or any number of lashes.
It should also be noted that theeyelash strip400 and/or402 is any type of eyelash strip, non-limiting examples of which include an eyelash strip with threads at the root, eyelash strip with knots at the root, or strips without threads at the root, or any other kind of eyelash strip. In other words, it should be explicitly understood that the method described herein can be employed with any type of eyelash strip that includes a plurality of eyelashes.
