Abstract

A graphical user interface having a portion of an orthopedic system displayed on an electronic display. Where the graphical user interface displays: a parameter of the orthopedic system; a portion of an orthopedic insert; and a parameter of the orthopedic insert. Where in response to detecting movement of the orthopedic system the displayed portion of the orthopedic system is moved, a change of the parameter of the orthopedic system is displayed, and a change in parameter of the orthopedic insert is displayed.

Description

Claims (20)

What is claimed is:
1. A surgical orthopedic system comprising a prosthetic component having at least one sensor configured to measure as least one parameter and a graphical user interface on an electronic display, a memory, and one or more processors to execute one or more programs stored in the memory, the graphical user interface comprising:
a portion of the prosthetic component displayed on the electronic display; and
the parameter of the prosthetic component displayed on the electronic display, where a tracking system in the orthopedic prosthetic component is configured to provide tracking data where in response to detecting movement of the prosthetic component or a change in the parameter, the displayed portion of the prosthetic component changes.
2. The graphical user interface according toclaim 1 wherein position of load is indicated on the displayed portion of the prosthetic component.
3. The graphical user interface according toclaim 2 wherein a region is indicated on the displayed portion of the prosthetic component and wherein the region corresponds to a location of the position of load known to increase reliability and performance.
4. The graphical user interface according toclaim 1 wherein relative load magnitude is indicated in the displayed portion of the prosthetic component.
5. The graphical user interface according toclaim 1 wherein an anterior-posterior direction is indicated on the displayed portion of the prosthetic component.
6. The graphical user interface according toclaim 1 wherein a medial-lateral direction is indicated on the displayed portion of the prosthetic component.
7. The graphical user interface according toclaim 1 wherein a portion of the musculoskeletal system to which the prosthetic component couples is displayed and wherein the displayed portion of musculoskeletal system changes upon the detection of movement of the prosthetic component or the change in the parameter.
8. The graphical user interface according toclaim 1 wherein a color change occurs in the displayed portion of the prosthetic component.
9. The graphical user interface according toclaim 1 wherein an indicator changes in the displayed portion of the prosthetic component.
10. The graphical user interface according toclaim 1 wherein the parameter comprises one of load magnitude, position of load, contact point rotation, prosthetic component rotation, flexion angle, balance, alignment, anterior-posterior slope, medial-lateral slope, joint movement, or offset.
11. A surgical orthopedic system comprising a prosthetic component having at least one sensor configured to measure at least one parameter and a graphical user interface on an electronic display, a memory, and one or more processors to execute one or more programs stored in the memory, the graphical user interface comprising:
a portion of the prosthetic component displayed on the electronic display wherein a position of load is displayed on the portion of the displayed prosthetic component; and
a load magnitude of the prosthetic component displayed on the electronic display where a tracking system in the orthopedic prosthetic component is configured to provide tracking data where in response to detecting movement of the prosthetic component or a change in the at least one parameter, the displayed portion of the prosthetic component indicates a change in a position of load in real-time.
12. The graphical user interface according toclaim 11 wherein a region is indicated on the displayed portion of the prosthetic component and wherein the region corresponds to a location of the position of load known to increase reliability and performance.
13. The graphical user interface according toclaim 11 wherein a portion of the musculoskeletal system to which the prosthetic component couples is displayed and wherein the displayed portion of musculoskeletal system changes upon the detection of movement of the prosthetic component or the change in the parameter.
14. The graphical user interface according toclaim 11 wherein a color change occurs in the displayed portion of the prosthetic component or wherein an indicator changes in the displayed portion of the prosthetic component.
15. The graphical user interface according toclaim 11 wherein the parameter comprises contact point rotation, load magnitude, position of load, prosthetic component rotation, flexion angle, balance, alignment, anterior-posterior slope, medial-lateral slope, joint movement, or offset.
16. A surgical orthopedic system comprising a prosthetic component having at least one sensor configured to measure at least one parameter and a graphical user interface on an electronic display, a memory, and one or more processors to execute one or more programs stored in the memory, the graphical user interface comprising:
a display region on the electronic display;
a portion of the muculoskeletal system to which the prosthetic component couples is displayed within the display region where a tracking system in the prosthetic component is configured to provide tracking data and where in response to detecting movement of the prosthetic component or a change in the parameter, the displayed portion of the musculoskeletal system changes in real-time.
17. The graphical user interface according toclaim 16 further including:
a portion of the prosthetic component displayed on the electronic display wherein a position of load is displayed on the portion of the displayed prosthetic component; and
a load magnitude of the prosthetic component displayed on the electronic display where the tracking system in the orthopedic prosthetic component is configured to provide tracking data where in response to detecting movement of the prosthetic component or a change in the at least one parameter, the displayed portion of the prosthetic component indicates a change in a position of load in real-time
18. The graphical user interface according toclaim 17 wherein a region is indicated on the displayed portion of the prosthetic component and wherein the region corresponds to a location of the position of load known to increase reliability and performance.
19. The graphical user interface according toclaim 12 wherein a color change occurs in the displayed portion of the prosthetic component or wherein an indicator changes in the displayed portion of the prosthetic component.
20. The graphical user interface according toclaim 16 wherein the parameter comprises load magnitude, position of load, contact point rotation, prosthetic component rotation, flexion angle, balance, alignment, anterior-posterior slope, medial-lateral slope, joint movement, or offset.
